A Plot: Erica is failing her film appreciation class, and her only hope for a passing grade is to write a term paper on a movie in one night. Erica has booked a musical performance that evening, so she calls Adam and invites him to D.C. for a visit. Adam brings Dave Kim, Chad Kremp and Sergei along, hoping for a Revenge of the Nerds college experience, but he soon learns that Erica was just using him to get the paper written. After Erica explains to Adam that college is nothing like the movie depictions, she and the guys work together to help her save her show and pass her class.

B Plot: Beverly writes a resume and ponders the next chapter of her life—a "Bevolution"—which scares Murray because she won't be around to cook and clean as much. He suggests she just change her appearance rather than make a life change, so Bev gets a permanent hairdo. Although it looks horrible on her, Murray insists she looks great, but Bev soon catches on to his scheme. Meanwhile, Barry tries to get a home perm, but it does nothing to change the appearance of his already curly hair. Soon, all members of the JTP try perms, making each one look ridiculous.

  • Crazy-Prepared: When Adam decides they can put on a show to help salvage Erica's reputation, he asks Sergei if he brought his violin, who answers "ALVAYS."
  • Gag Haircut: Bev's bad perm. Barry and the JTP also get perms, although it has no effect on Barry's own already curly hair...at least until The Tag, when the various applied products lead to hair loss.
  • Innocent Innuendo: Due to Adam and his friends realizing that a "panty raid" is invasive and a tad creepy, they end up having a pantry raid (they steal food from the kitchen). When Erica learns of this, she reacts with disgust...then realizes what was actually said, and is just confused.
  • Never My Fault: When Erica admits to lying to get help on her paper, Adam starts doubting in what movies about college have taught him. Soon after, when she apologizes to the nerds for overly hyping the college experience and admits that the only reason she didn't call home more often was shame in herself, Adam decides that they haven't been believing in the films enough. When Chad Kremp calls him out on this, Adam accuses Kremp as the one that was starting to feel doubt and dragging everyone else down, even convincing Dave Kim to agree with him.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Adam gives one to Erica, about how he would have gladly helped her with a term paper if she had just asked, but she instead chose to lie and raise their hopes up for a false experience.
