A Plot: When Murray's younger brother Marvin comes over for Thanksgiving, he has a tendency on bringing stress to the holiday and the brothers ignite their longstanding feud with each other.
B Plot: Adam and Barry compete in a sport they made up called "Ball-Ball", which is similar to football. But when Barry cheats and loses for the very first time, it causes their own brotherly fight.
- Anachronism Stew: Early on, Adam asks Marvin if his DeLorean can travel through time, an obvious nod to Back to the Future, but later on Pops hears news reports on the arrest of John DeLorean for drug trafficking. That happened in October 1982, three years before Back to the Future premiered.
- Calvinball: Ball-Ball, a completely nonsensical game with a foam football that Adam and Barry made up. The many, many rules are made up so Barry can win every single time.
- Cool Car: Marvin comes to Thanksgiving in a DeLorean, which everyone but Murray makes a big deal of. Becomes The Alleged Car after it gets hit and the shutdown of the company that makes it leaves it unrepairable.
