Berserk Button: Mirabel is much more aggressive than usual towards the Skrill because it interrupted Luisa's date.
Blatant Lies: When the other dragon riders arrive, Astrid says that a few people had trouble with their first flights. Snotlout denies this...while hanging upside down from Hookfang's neck.
Catch a Falling Star: The Skrill uses the last of its electricity to shoot at Toothless, knocking Hiccup and Mirabel off of him. Toothless catches Hiccup, but Mirabel is caught by Mariposa, the Stormcutter she'd met earlier.
Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: Camilo saves Snotlout from falling to his death...by accidentally giving him a massive wedgie. Snotlout reacts exactly how you'd think.
Cuteness Proximity: Apparently, the reason why Mariposa likes Mirabel is because she thinks she's adorable, or "fluffy". This is ultimately what leads to Mariposa showing up at the last minute to save Mirabel and knock out the Skrill.
Disaster Dominoes: The first attempt to capture the Skrill turns into this, as the Madrigals and Berkians accidentally mess up each other's attacks and knock each other out.
Failed a Spot Check: When Fishlegs reveals that Skrills are weak too water. Tuffnut asks where they're going to find water... floating over the ocean.
