Blue Ribbon Bunny: The gang surprises Rabbit with a gardening award and it all goes to his head.
Under the Pig Top: Piglet writes a story about running away to the circus and Pooh and his friends thinks he actually wants to do that.
Blue Ribbon Bunny contains examples of:
- Acquired Situational Narcissism: Rabbit lets the blue ribbon he received get to his head, becoming quite boastful and proud of himself.
- An Aesop: It's nice to receive an award, but be modest about it and don't let it go to your head.
- Character Development: Pooh, who was shown in "The Spice of Life" to be a Picky Eater who didn't like anything except honey, is seen happily munching a carrot from Rabbit's garden, showing he's broadening his tastes when it comes to food.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Pooh and Piglet confess to Rabbit that they made the ribbon, Tigger is more concerned about getting Rabbit's easy chair out of the deal.
- Gone Horribly Right: Piglet and Pooh make a blue ribbon with "Gardener of the Year" on it and anonymously give it to Rabbit to show their appreciation for his gardening. But Rabbit is so proud of his gardening skill being acknowledged that he becomes increasingly more pompous and boastful.
- "I Am Great!" Song: "Gardener of the Year", wherein Rabbit boasts about how great of a gardener is.
- Literal-Minded: Piglet admits to Pooh that he thinks they "created a monster", meaning their ribbon has made Rabbit too boastful. Pooh thinks that a real monster is around and briefly panics before Piglet explains what he meant.
Under the Pig Top contains examples of:
- Not What It Looks Like: The events of the story happen because Rabbit and Pooh misunderstand Piglet's intentions. Rabbit thinks Piglet's story of a circus is him about to run away, and Pooh mistakes Piglet's spring cleaning as him packing up.
- The Runaway: Parodied. The gang, through increased misunderstandings (Rabbit reading what he thinks is a letter was actually Piglet's story and Pooh thinks that Piglet's spring cleaning of his scarves was him packing up), ends up believing Piglet is intending to run away to join the circus. They decide to fight fire with fire and make their own circus so he won't leave.
