It's just a kid. - Hoist by His Own Petard: In order to maintain a 3-to-1 female:male ratio, Justin Kenyon began sending boys out into the wilderness to die, starting with his own son David. Not only did David survive, but he helped enough of the other discarded boys do the same that they were able to attack the compound and slaughter Justin's adult followers for not being crazy and fundamentalist enough.
- Self-Made Orphan: David Kenyon kills his father at the beginning of the episode.
