On a rainy day, Daggett is outside "retwigging" the dam and Norbert doesn't want to do any work. So, he decides to fake being sick and Daggett ends up taking care of him. But then, Daggett decides to turn the tables on Norbert by faking his illness too.

Tropes featured in this episode:

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: There were a couple of moments of this throughout the series, but this episode really showcases this, especially during the scene where Norbert thinks that Daggett is dying and he actually howls in sorrow when it appears that Daggett died.
  • Berserk Button: When Norbert found out that Daggett had tricked him, he gets very angry and starts chasing Daggett throughout the dam, eventually trapping him in a corner and giving him a massive Death Glare.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Norbert immediately goes into this when he thinks that Daggett is actually sick and he did everything he can to make sure Daggett is comfortable.
  • Cruel Twist Ending: Norbert and Daggett were both faking their illness throughout the episode. At the end though, they ended up getting sick for real.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Norbert gets this when he tries to trick Daggett into thinking that he's sick. But then Daggett turns the tables on him when he pretends that he's sick to teach Norbert a lesson.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: When Daggett starts faking his illness and Norbert ends up taking care of him instead.
  • Never Say "Die": Instead of saying that one of them is dying from the illness, they would use phrases like "the car pool of the kaput has made pit stop" to emphasize that point.
  • Ominous Latin Chanting: Parodied. Dag is on his deathbed and you can hear one of these chanting random Latin phrases like "Habeas Corpus" and "Quid Pro Quo" and even the lyrics to "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"!
  • Sick Episode: Basically, Norbert and Daggett are faking their illness with each other until they get sick for real at the end.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When Norbert has Daggett cornered, Dag points out Norb faked being sick first and it was a terrible thing for him to pretend being really sick just to get out of doing some housework.
