Puss, Dulcinea, Babieca, Toby and Artephius have traveled through the Netherworld portal. As a result of its bizarre energies, everyone but Puss has gained super powers. Once inside the Netherworld they meet with the mage Hecate and join her resistance army to fight the Blind King.
Tropes:
- Foreshadowing: As Hecate explains, the Blind King is actually a fairly recent thing; he didn't appear to seize control of the Netherworld until shortly after all the Multiversal Pusses In Boots left the Netherworld.
- Letter Motif: The Zephilim all have two syllable names that start with Z.Zuva: This is Zava, Zeeva, Ziva, Zurva, Little Zuva, Big Zuva, Zoooova with a long "oo", Zupha, Other Zuva.
Puss: I am never going to remember all those names.
Zuva: Now that I say them out loud, we kind of stink at naming people. - Nonindicative Name: To the denizens of the Netherworld, the real world is known as "Donkey Town". Even they aren't really sure why.
- Oddly Small Organization: Although Hecate speaks of being part of a "Grand Netherworld Resistance Army", in reality she is the only member.
- One-Steve Limit: Just to highlight how confusing Zephilim names are, besides the fact that they all sound similar, there are four different people that are just straight up named Zuva.
- Proud Warrior Race Guy: Puss is attacked by a group of warriors. His absolute refusal to stop fighting until he literally passes out earns their respect.
- Suddenly Voiced: Babieca gains the ability to talk as a result of traveling through the Netherworld portal.
- Super-Empowering: The unpredictable nature of going through the portal the opposite way has given everyone but Puss super powers:
- The Walls Have Eyes: The Netherworld is full of giant eyeballs.
