Recap / The A Team S 4 E 20 Mission Of Peace

Go To

A group of senior citizens looking to save the Western-style mission where they earn their living calls in the A-Team. Hannibal attempts to make the mission a national treasure to keep it out of the villain's hands, but the team must deal not only with trouble from the local toughs, but with soldiers who give the army a bad name.

This episode includes examples of the following tropes:

  • Lie Detector: B.A. sets up a lie detector disguised as a trivia video game in a local bar as a way to contact their client. The sensors are apparently in the handles the player uses.
  • Kill It with Fire: The villains burn down the senior home after being attacked by the team. None of the inhabitants die, but they're demoralized and have lost their home and belongings.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": When Face realizes that "Rudy" is famed con artist Charlie the Clip, he gushes about studying all of his scams and tells the team that Charlie sold Brooklyn the Brooklyn Bridge.
  • Summon Bigger Fish: Hannibal sends Murdock to let Fulbright and his soldiers out of captivity and to inform them what's going on, allowing them to arrive and arrest the villains before they can overrun the mission.
  • Theme Park: The "MisiĆ²n de la Paz" bills itself as a historical version of one of these, centered around a group of settlers led by John Moultier who made a last stand there. "Rudy" ultimately confesses that the reason why he's been blocking attempts to declare the park a national treasure is that none of that ever happened here, but the park is important to his friends' independence and he wants to keep it going. Face ultimately manages to get it declared a national treasure because the stable grew from reputedly belonged to Sam Houston.
  • Would Harm a Senior:
    • The roughs at the bar where Nora meets the team show no scruples against pushing her around and trying to steal the money she has in her purse. The A-Team soon puts a stop to it.
    • The villains of the week are attacking a park almost entirely run by senior citizens and they have no problems with pulling guns on them or even putting at least one in the hospital.
