With Shredder, Krang, and the Technodrome buried miles underground, the Turtles are looking forward to some time off. Unfortunately, Shredder and Krang are far from finished. While the Turtles are taking a day off, Shredder and his henchmutants steal a medi-ray from a hospital, which they turn into a harming ray that puts Splinter into a comatose state. The turtles need to find Shredder and get the medi-ray back before it's too late to save Splinter.

- Abandoned Catchphrase: Almost. Donatello asks why Michelangelo won't shout "cowabunga" while sewer-surfing like he usually does, only to admit that he's growing tired of it.
- As Long as It Sounds Foreign: When he learns that the turtles are slacking on their training, Splinter cries out "sacagawea" before mopping the floor with them, which is definitely not Japanese.
- Borrowed Catchphrase: Michelangelo considers replacing his catchphrase with "Yabba Dabba Doo!"
- Organic Technology: It's revealed that the Technodrome possesses a "protein silicon computer" for its operating system and Shredder steals a laser made for medical purposes to repair it.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: The turtles run into a man in an ominous cape that looks like Shredder's. Aside from mild annoyance, the man makes no mention of the 5 ft. tall talking turtles with weapons.
