Feeling defeated and hopeless after the Darach took his mother, Scott joins Deucalion's pack in a desperate attempt to save her. Allison and Isaac scramble to keep Allison's father safe when the Darach reveals that Chris is her final target. But Chris has a shocking plan in mind, giving himself up to Jennifer in the hopes that being prepared to be taken will be the way that he is able to successfully escape, and save the sheriff and Melissa at the same time. Stiles and Lydia shockingly come to a revelation about where it is that Jennifer is taking the victims, an ancient root cellar called the Nemeton. The Alpha Pack fast pursues their wild card—the emissary Morrell, and Scott must make a split-second decision about whether he wants to protect a life or standby and watch while the alphas take a life. Reeling from guilt after trusting Jennifer to save Cora, Derek decides to make a sacrifice he never thought he would—he gives up his alpha powers to save Cora's life. With all three of the guardians now in the Darach's custody and the lunar eclipse fast approaching, Dr. Deaton gives a risky proposition: Stiles, Scott, and Allison must give themselves up as temporary surrogate sacrifices for their parents.
