Recap / Teen Titans Go S 7 E 35 Go

Go To

After the Teen Titans' opposite-gendered rivals the Titan Teens trademark the word "Go!" to use as their own catchphrase, Robin struggles to motivate the team to do anything.

Tropes:

  • Artistic License – Law: In real life, the word "go" would be impossible to trademark due to how generic and commonplace it is. The same goes for the word "bat", which the Trademark Troll also trademarks in order to extort Batman.
  • Bolt of Divine Retribution: After saying "Go!" is trademarked by the Titan Teens (and is later taken by a Trademark Troll), anyone else who says the word (or a variant, like "going") is immediately struck by lightning.
  • The Bus Came Back: The only other time that the Titan Teens appeared was back in Season 4's "Beast Girl".
  • Loophole Abuse: In order to beat the Trademark Troll without getting hit by a Bolt of Divine Retribution, Robin and the Titan Teens leader split the word and say it together, with Robin getting the "G" and the opposite-gendered Robin getting the "O!"
  • Something We Forgot: The episode starts with the Teen Titans arriving to stop a giant acid-spewing monster, about to charge into action with a "Go!", causing the Titan Teens to arrive and accuse them of infringement. The rest of the episode then focuses on dealing with this trademark issue, and ends with the two groups (minus Robin) going out for ice cream while the monster is seen continuing to destroy the city in the background.
