- An Aesop: Looks don't matter.
- And Show It to You: Raven pulls out Beast Boy's heart, then flings it back into him.
- Armor-Piercing Question: Beast Boy gives one to each Titan in an attempt to comfort them over their bug-like transformations. All their responses are 'yes' in their own way.
- Broken Aesop: Despite Robin saying the Aesop, he puts a paper bag on Starfire's head to cover up her horrible make-up.
- Brown Note: Whenever any of the Teen Titans so much as look at Chuck, they vomit without hesitation.
- Faux Horrific: What was Beast Boy's transformation to get the Bug Titans puking like he's the ugliest thing? Frosted tips.
- Foreshadowing: Killer Moth thinks Chuck doesn't look like Beast Boy. He's right on the mark.
- Ironic Echo: In the beginning of the episode, Robin said "Looks don't matter" in regards to Starfire putting on horrible make-up. Beast Boy said the same thing in the ending of the episode when he comforts the Titans of their bug-like transformations.
- Malaproper: Beast Boy, being, well, him, bungles up trying to say the word "metamorphosis."
- Never Trust a Title: The episode has pretty much nothing to do with croissants; aside from the fact that Cyborg comments about there being what he thought was a huge croissant in the Titans' living room at the start of the episode.
- Vomit Chain Reaction: This episode features Robin, Raven, Starfire and Cyborg constantly vomiting just because of Chuck.
