Recap / Teen Titans Go S 1 E 44 In And Out

Go To

Robin finds out that the H.I.V.E. Five is turning H.I.V.E. Tower into a space battle station, and disguises himself as a villain in order to infiltrate and destroy it. However, he soon finds out that H.I.V.E. Tower is much cooler on the inside than Titans Tower is.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • A Simple Plan: It turns out that the plan to infiltrate H.I.V.E. Tower isn't quite as "in and out" as Robin expected, due to all the luxuries he and the other Titans get distracted by.
  • Hourglass Plot: The episode ends with the H.I.V.E. Tower destroyed, the H.I.V.E. Five moving into the Titan Tower, and Robin blowing up Titan Tower to kick them out.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Unlike Robin's and Cyborg's disguises, Starfire's, Beast Boy's, and Raven's disguises aren't well-thought-out. Even their names aren't, either (Sapphire, Beast Bob, and Ravine, respectively). However, it still works, with none of the H.I.V.E. Five cluing in until Beast Boy dramatically rips off his fake sideburns.
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: The undercover Titans keep goofing off and making a mess, to the point that the H.I.V.E. Five blow up their own tower themselves just to get rid of them.
  • Title Drop: "This mission will be fast. In and out."
