- Jackie Chu calls Black Yoshi “Brack Roshi”. Both Mario and Brooklyn Guy don’t recognize the name.
- Black Yoshi says Jeffy’s name as “Jeffrey”.
- Aside Glance: Black Yoshi in one scene faces the viewer before he attempts to steal the shoes.
- Backto School: Black Yoshi goes to school only so he can get Jeffy’s shoes. Black Yoshi also claims that he dropped out of the 4 grade because Ms. Lipkiss said that he couldn’t read so good.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Both Jeffy and Black Yoshi want to wear the bumblebee shoes and the former was told by Mario that the shoes sting every time you walk. Both characters are obviously in pain with the shoes.
- Blatant Lies: Black Yoshi lies that he won the shoes in a competition. He also lies that he bought the shoes with his own money and the receipt was dropped in a puddle. Black Yoshi also says that the store with the receipt got shut down because it got hit with a meteor. Brooklyn Guy says that he didn’t hear it on the news because the government tried to cover it up.
- Does Not Like Spam: Jeffy doesn’t want to eat peas as he thinks they are boogers and also pee.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Black Yoshi wants to get the bumblebee shoes so he goes to Jeffy’s school and steals them.
- You Have Gotto Be Kidding Me: Brooklyn Guy’s response to seeing Black Yoshi with the shoes:Are you fucking serious?
