- Beach Episode: Star finally gets to have the Beach Day with Marco, but it doesn't turn out the way she had hoped.
- The Cameo: At the end of the episode, Marco makes a sandman that looks a lot like Ludo.
- Help Yourself in the Future: It turns out the Beach Day photograph was sent by Star so her past self will have the promise of a better tomorrow to help her get by in hard times.
- Prophecy Armor: Star had previously deduced from the "Beach Day" photo that if she and Marco were able to be happy together like that, things must turn out well in the end. It turns out that was the whole reason she sent it back to herself in the first place. Unfortunately, Father Time reveals they've just used up their safety net before an even greater crisis.
- Prophetic Fallacy: The Beach Day photo shows Star and Marco having a good time. What ends up happening is that Star enjoyed herself for only a few minutes, the old lady takes a photo of them, and Star ends up feeling dejected because she thought that happiness in the photo would mean permanent happiness once she reached that point of her life. She realizes that the Beach Day was but a fabricated ideal in her mind. Star felt she was chasing a vision of false hope that she gave herself. Marco cheers her up by reminding Star that she made her own happiness that day and can continue to do so.
- Shout-Out: Star's "Eureka!" Moment is Marco, I know what we're gonna do today!
- Stable Time Loop: Star gives her past the photograph because she realizes how important the promise of Beach Day had become to her.
- Vagueness Is Coming: Just before Star leaves Father Time's dimension, he warns her that the "harder times" are coming. Likely, he's foreshadowing the threat Mina is posing.
