"Alcohol Related Injury" is the fifth episode of the first season of Sirens (US).
After Theresa drunkenly arrives at Johnny's apartment seeking to hook up, the two of them agree to a no-strings attached, purely sexual relationship, which Hank and the others don't think he's capable of keeping up, because they believe he needs emotional attachment.
This episode provides examples of:
- Immediate Self-Contradiction: Johnny brags about his "success" at booty calls but then immediately wonders why Theresa hasn't texted him back.
- Loophole Abuse: Johnny tries to come up with one as an excuse to stick around and talk to Theresa.
- Playing Cyrano: Done by the crew when encouraging Johnny to go and hook up with Theresa while at the bar.
- Too Dumb to Live: Played with; Hank and the others treat Johnny like this when he proves incapable of maintaining a purely sexual relationship with Theresa.
- What Did I Do Last Night?: Partly averted, as both Theresa and Johnny remember how much they enjoyed the previous night.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Happens to Johnny, who's initially thrilled by the prospect of no-strings attached hookups with Theresa, but manages to ruin it by realizing he wants the romantic part of sex too. This arrangement appears to have ended by the next few episodes.
