Baa-hind the Scenes

Original air date: 4/7/2002

In the twenty-sixth, second season finale and final episode of Sheep in the Big City, Sheep and his manager have a lunch meeting behind the scenes. General Specific tries to cancel the show, but is talked into leaving Sheep alone by the show's writer when he is threatened with being replaced by a new character.

"Baa-hind the Scenes" contains examples of:

  • Animated Actors: The episode happens behind the scenes and depicts all of the characters on the show as actors, though the actors' names and real personalities are exactly the same.
  • Big Eater: Sheep pretty much eats everything at the restaurant: the flora, the tablecloth, and even the table.
  • Donut Mess with a Cop: Sheep's agent proposes that a new show Sheep could star in would be a cop show titled Baah and Order. The hypothetical show's opening narration says that the two most important people in the world of crime are the police officers solving the crimes and the bakers who make the cops' donuts.
  • Forced Transformation: The Angry Scientist's latest invention can force Sheep to be transformed into a different animation style. He ends up becoming cuter, which impresses the executive enough to place Sheep in a kid's show.
  • Self-Deprecation: A network executive responds to the suggestion of having Sheep star in a children's cartoon by saying that he doesn't have the look for it.
  • Series Finale: Although not intended to be the last episode, the series was unfortunately not renewed beyond this episode, thus making it the finale.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Baah and Order is a very obvious take on Law & Order.
    • "It's A Sheep's Life" parodies sitcoms in general, but the theme song for it distinctly has a Seinfeld slap bass.
