Dr. Cox and Jordan find out they are still technically married, due to a legal mishap; respect eludes J.D. in his new residency role that has him battling with Elliot.
- Character Tic: Turk's new attending is a "question talker".Attending: Do I want you to be on time, Dr. Turk? Yes I do. Will I remember this? Yes I will.
- Friendship Moment: JD has a moment of doubt after his patient dies under Turk's knife, which hurts Turk's feelings and they have to talk it out. Eliot admits she wanted to feel special and not pitied and apologizes about the co-chief resident thing, and JD gives it to her for a little while.
- Grand Romantic Gesture: Cox rushes home and asks Jordan to divorce him.
- Humble Pie: The Janitor decides it's his job to deflate JD's ego from the Chief Resident thing.
- Oh, Crap!: Cox and Jordan are stunned to learned that, thanks to Ted's incompetence, they never actually got divorced.
- Slap-Slap-Kiss: Jordan's and Cox's typical behavior takes a dark turn when they learn they're still married. Now that they both feel stuck in their relationship, everything seems more serious.
