JD, Elliot, and Turk each get new students, and they each face difficulties.
- Cannot Talk to Women: Cox tries to hit on Turk's student and he sucks at it. It's not until Turk steps in and forbids them to talk to each other. When Cox starts to be furious, Turk tells him he just made it impossible for her to stay away from him.
- Dare to Be Badass: JD gives this to his student, challenging him to step up and be a better doctor. Kelso gives one to Eliot, telling her she doesn't have to put up with her student's jackassery just because his dad basically owns the hospital ("Just because I have to suck up to him doesn't mean you have to.")
- Has a Type: Cox was married to Jordan, fell for Carla, and now starts a relationship with Turk's med student, Kristen, all strong women who don't take shit from anyone.
