Sagwa, Fufu and the Whistling Pigeon

  • An Aesop: Friendship shouldn't have to be about picking sides or choosing between two friends. It's about making time for each other.
  • Heel Realization: After Ping-Wing leaves them, Sagwa and Fufu talk with a fourth party (Dongwa) about why she snapped at them. When the two talk it out, it finally dawns on them that they were the root of the problem, so caught up in fighting that they made Ping-Wing miserable (Although Sagwa was admittedly a little more sympathetic).
  • Rage Breaking Point: After putting up with Sagwa and Fufu's incessant bickering about which activity (painting or flying) she wants to do with each, Ping-Wing finally calls them out for their argument and flies away.
  • Take a Third Option: After making up, Sagwa and Fufu are discouraged that the former still can't fly and the latter still can't paint. Ping-Wing figures the reasonable solution is to make time for flying with Fufu and painting with Sagwa. So what are they going to do in the meantime? Something that both parties can do with Ping-Wing: tai-chi.

Princess Sheegwa

  • Cats Hate Water: When the Magistrate tries to give Sheegwa a bath, she freaks out so much that he gives up after a few seconds.
  • Status Quo Is God: Sheegwa's "princess birthmark" is really just a smudge of mud. So she's not going to be a princess. But the good news is, she doesn't have to leave her family, giving her more time to spend with her big sister Sagwa.
