Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 47 No Such Luck

Go To

Thanks to the Infinity Balls, Lynn is literally on top of the world with everything she's ever wanted!

But was it all worth it?

Rick & Morty episode: N/A

Loud House episode(s): No Such Luck, Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow, The Loudest Yard

  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • Instead of Lynn accusing Lincoln of being "bad luck" and him relishing in it to the point where he's kicked out of the house, this plot of the chapter is about Lynn trying to find a sport that Lincoln is good at.
    • The scene at the Burpin' Burger has Lynn celebrating with her family instead of Margo and her other teammates.
  • All for Nothing: Despite warping the world to reconnect with Lincoln, Lynn can't get him to get interested in one single sport.
  • Big Sister Worship: Lincoln was trying to getting into sports to gain Lynn's approval and when he fails at each one he tries, he starts to doubt if he's good enough for her.
  • Cliffhanger: The chapter ends with Lincoln pressing the button of a small device (the container of Zeep's universe) and disappearing.
  • Double-Meaning Title: Aside from being a reference to the original Loud House episode, it also shows how everything Lynn did to make things go her way was ultimately fruitless, as Lincoln still isn't into sports and they're nowhere any closer than they were before.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: No matter which sport Lincoln tries, it always ends with him (and in one case, Lynn) getting injured. He even starts to lampshade it:
Lincoln: You know, I'm starting to realize a lot of these end with me getting hit in the head somehow.
  • Immune to Mind Control: Thanks to their prior usage of the Infinity Balls, Carol, Darcy, Maggie, and Mr. Grouse remain unaffected by Lynn's brainwashing and have been hiding out in Grouse's house.
  • Mythology Gag: Lucy's cheerleading outfit is the same one her sisters dressed her up in during her makeover in "Back in Black".
  • Red Sky, Take Warning: Lincoln notes that the sky is red; an early sign that something isn't right with the world.
  • Social Darwinist: Lynn shows shades of this when she stops Lincoln from helping Clyde from getting bullied. In her worldview, some people are winners, others are not, and everyone has to fend for themselves.
  • Universally Beloved Leader: By using the Infinity Balls, Lynn becomes the "President of Earth" and is admired by everyone on the planet, including her family.
  • What You Are in the Dark: At one point, Lynn looks at the bathroom mirror and her reflection has a unibrow and alcohol dripping from her mouth... just like Rick! Her shock at this causes her world to distort, signifying her losing her confidence and control.
