After recovering Washington's old AI Epsilon rather than the Alpha, a bewildered Church begins experiencing strange flashes from the AI as Washington explains the history of Project Freelancer to him.

Tropes for this episode include:

• Everyone Has Standards: Church (still unaware he is the Alpha) is horrified to learn that Project Freelancer tortured the Alpha A.I. so it would split off fragments.
• Technologically Blind Elders: Sarge does not understand technology at all. When he tells Simmons about erasing the Blues, he rambles for about half a minute about "spreadabases", data sheets, the "internets", and various other nonsensical terms before finally getting Simmons to understand what he's even talking about.
• Tomato in the Mirror: Church is actually the Alpha A.I., left amnesiac from the torture inflicted on it.
• Wham Episode: Probably the biggest of the entire series. Church is revealed to be the Alpha, throwing the entire series up to this point in a new light.
