Poisandra is busy getting a manicure from some of the Vivix, when Curio runs in, being chased by a female Vivix. While Curio doesn't like her the way she likes him, Poisandra notes that everyone needs to be loved by someone, so she decides to give the Vivix a makeover. Using her magic make-up, Poisandra turns the Vivix into Beauticruel, who is empowered by the make-up. Heckyl decides to use the make-up to his advantage, by turning the rangers on one another.
At the Dino Byte cafe, Chase and his girlfriend Kaylee are celebrating their anniversary. Chase has made a model of the Saturn V rocket, with the words "I'd fly to the moon for you, Kaylee" written on the plaque. Meanwhile; Kendall, Shelby and Keeper are attempting to get in contact with the Silver Ranger, but are unable to locate him. Chase takes his rocket with him for their date, but gets called away by the others, having to lie and say he needs to help his friend's pet, Bubbles the fish. The guys make it to a building complex, where the biosigns are leading them, but initially there is nobody there. Then the guys spot Wrench, Poisandra and Beauticruel coming towards them. Morphing, the five battle against the trio, but are ambushed by a group of Vivix, who pile on them. Beauticruel drains Ivan, Riley and Koda of their energy, transplanting it into Vivix, who gain their strength, as well as a color-coded cape. Chase and Tyler pursue Poisandra while the others deal with their counterparts. While sorting out phase 2 of their plan, Wrench engages Tyler and Chase to delay them. Poisandra's plan is to disguise Beauticruel as a human, and make a ranger fall in love with her using the make-up. They kidnap a girl named Brittney, switching their bodies before dumping the monster-Brittney in a dumpster. Faking an attack by Poisandra, Tyler rescues 'Brittney', before being tagged by Beauticruel's pink make-up. He becomes enamored with her, taking her by the arm to the cafe, to the disbelief of Chase.
Back at the cafe, he and Brittney are sitting at a table while the others work. In disgust over the fact that they just met, Shelby accidentally drops a milkshake on Brittney, making the two leave the cafe in a huff. While leaving, the group notice that Tyler has paint on his back similar to the others, indicating Beauticruel's involvement. They get a note from Kendall about another biosign, and once again Chase has to snub Kaylee to be a ranger. They discover the real Brittney in the dumpster, who after proving her innocence, decides to head back to the cafe to work out a plan. Prince Philip, who is still in town on Energem business is brought in to assess the situation. He notes that they will need to defeat Beauticruel after she has switched back, lest it harm Brittany in the process. They decide to fake Chase being in love with her in order to make her change of her own volition. Chase initially refuses due to him being Kaylee's boyfriend, but realizes that he will need to be a ranger first and a boyfriend second, to his sadness.
Chase interrupts Tyler and Brittany's date, right before she steals his Energem, and after a brief scuffle tosses Tyler into the bushes and takes Brittany for a walk. He showers her with praise and complements, before 'noting' that she isn't usually his type; he tells her he prefers "big lips, short bobby hair" and that 'eyes are overrated', making her believe that her true form will be even more beautiful. As she runs off to switch back, Kaylee confronts him about his two timing, and the two split. Chase sadly confirms the plan is ready, while Kaylee follows him to continue telling him off. Snide angrily walks in on Poisandra and Wrench and tells them the plan was for the Red Ranger to fall in love, not the Black Ranger; however Heckyl forcibly takes control and chides Snide, telling him he doesn't care which ranger or Energem she gets. He orders Beauticruel to destroy the ranger once she has his Energem, to prove her loyalty, noting that "sometimes, love hurts."
Beauticruel switches back to her monster form, to the relief of the real Brittany, before Chase interrupts. He tells Beauticruel that he never loved her, and never could, because his love is reserved for someone else; adding that she has now ruined that too. He hits her with a Dino Morpher Blast, destroying the make-up and breaking the love spell on Tyler. Kaylee also discovers that Chase and the others are rangers. While Kendall escorts Brittany, the 7 rangers (including Philip) morph, taking on the monsters, using the Supercharge Tri-Stego finisher on Beauticruel. When Heckyl Magnabeams her, Kendall summons the Titano Zord to engage her and the Vivizords. The rangers form the Titano Charge Megazord, but are outnumbered 5-1 when two Spikeballs enter the fray. Chase, Shelby and Ivan summon the Tri-Ptera Charge Megazord, and battle the mooks, while Tyler finishes off Beauticruel with the Titan Axe finisher.
Infuriated by the loss, and becoming more frustrated with each, Heckyl punishes Poisandra and Wrench's failings by mixing her make-ups and applying the results to each of them, causing them to swap bodies but retain their own heads. Kaylee and Chase confide in each other, he telling her how frustrated he is at constantly bailing on her and telling her she doesn't deserve him, while she in turn reveals that she knows he is a ranger. Kendall has news as well, they have made contact with the Silver Ranger. The problem? He is under attack, and requires reinforcements, lest he lose the Silver Energem for good...
