Polly and her friends orchestrate a paranormal scare for Pierce. But when an investigator arrives, they have to work hard to keep their tiny secret.

Tropes:

  • Big Brother Bully: Pierce takes on this role a bit in this episode, refusing to quiet down for even a short time so Polly and her friends can film their movie while also not taking his loud hobbies elsewhere.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: The Cold Open shows Polly & Lila apparently being chased by one of these; but in reality it’s just Nicolas in a costume, as they’re filming a movie for a contest.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: The episode ends with Nicolas uploading the video of the group’s fake ghost escapades online for the movie contest. Pierce finds out that the video has already gotten thousands of views and instead of being angry or embarrassed, he’s excited about now being famous - Polly and her friends laugh in relief.
  • From Bad to Worse: Polly thinks it’s bad enough when Pierce keeps making noise throughout the house and interrupts her movie shoot. However, when he calls in a paranormal investigator to exorcize their fake ghost, it causes even more noise and trouble than before.
  • Gone Horribly Right: In order to get Pierce to leave and give them some peace & quiet, Polly and her friends pull a prank on him to make him think the house is haunted. Their trick works a little too well, as Pierce gets so scared that he calls in a paranormal investigator to get rid of the ghost.
  • Good-Times Montage: When trying to convince the paranormal investigator not to destroy their house, Polly reflects back on all the good times she and Pierce have had growing up together there.
  • Michael Jackson's Thriller Parody: The “Spirit Dance” Pierce and Polly do to rid the Pocket house of the “poltergeist,” is basically the same as the dance from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video.
  • Read the Fine Print: Polly and Pierce protest when Patty the paranormal investigator tries to demolish their house due to not being able to rid it of the ghost, but Patty shows them that she’s completely within her rights to do so thanks to the fine print Pierce didn’t read before signing the contract.
