• Book Ends: The cliffhanger of the previous episode (thus bleeding straight to this one) sees Serena asking Ash if he remembers her. This episode ends with Ash asking Serena what she wants to do next.
• Determinator: Pikachu manages to keep going after catching a facefull of Sleep Powder.
• Forgotten First Meeting: To Serena's chagrin, Ash doesn't actually remember her. At first.
• Group Picture Ending: Fitting, since Viola is a photographer, so she decides to take a picture of the Kalos gang (with herself and Alexa included in the shot).
• Magical Defibrillator: Seeing Pikachu feel the effects of Sleep Powder, Ash commands Pikachu to launch Electro Ball straight up into the air, so that it will fall back down and hit Pikachu, waking him back up.
