Open House is the first episode of the 2nd Season of Pee-wee's Playhouse. In this episode, Pee-Wee and the gang are remodeling the playhouse.

- Featured Cartoon: Philip Broadcast of 1938
- This is the first episode to feature Floory, Clockey, Mrs. Rene, Billy Balony and Ricardo.
- The secret word card is now all uppercase letters and Pee-Wee puts it in his coat pocket instead of pants pocket. And the flashing secret word graphic will be all lowercase letters.
- Pee-Wee No longer does the foil ball anymore because it got too big and could not keep it in the playhouse. He donated it to the foil museum. From that point on, He now uses the rubberband ball.
- Dixie no longer intoduces the King of Cartoons anymore. Instead, The trio flowers sing a song to welcome the King of Cartoons. In addition, The King of Cartoon now uses a TV with remote instead of the projector.
- Instead of the iron, Pee-Wee now uses the statue's arm to crank as he opens the secret door with the scooter. Pee-Wee now wears a helmet. When he leaves, he flies over Mt. Rushmore before hitting the road.
- Because the playhouse was a mess. This is only episode where the full theme song was not shown.

This episode provides the example of:
- Fantasy Helmet Enforcement / Cool Helmet: The first episode where Pee-Wee wears a cyclops helmet while riding his scooter. And uses it from this point on. This may be due to the helmet law.
- Re-Cut: The Suntea and Cookie snacktime was cut in the MGM/UA Home Video release and rerun on Fox Family due to health concerns over creating sun tea. The DVD version does reinstate the segment, but a Content Warning about how making sun tea in real life may cause illness if done improperly was added before the start of the episode.
