Short Summary

A cover page mini-arc that focuses on a News Coo delivering news of Luffy and Law's bounty increase following the Dressrosa arc.

Long Summary

Following Luffy and Law's victory over Donquixote Doflamingo, their bounties were increased to 500 million Berries. News of Doflamingo's downfall, the events that happened in Dressrosa, and Luffy and Law's pirate alliance quickly spread throughout the world.

  • In Windmill Village, Dadan and her Mountain Bandits celebrates Luffy's increase in Makino's bar (save Woop Slap who is grumpy as usual).
    • Also notable is that some of the bandits are wearing Sabo's hat which shows they finally know he's alive.
  • At Zoro's old dojo, Koshiro is exasperated at his students imitating Zoro with Three-Sword Style and tape over their left eyes.
  • At Syrup Village, the Usopp Pirate Crew cry tears of joy after seeing their old captain's new bounty.
  • At the Baratie, Zeff curiously looks over Sanji's new poster (possibly related to the "Only Alive" tag) while Patty and the other chefs laugh at an enraged Carne ripping up Wanted Posters as the expansion modeled after Sanji's old poster is now obsolete.
  • At Cocoyashi Village, Genzo is yelling at someone on a Transponder Snail over how "shameless" Nami's new picture is, despite having blown it up to a larger size and hanging it like a poster. Nojiko just laughs.
  • At Reverse Mountain, Laboon smiles at the news of his old and new friends doing well.
  • At Drum Island, Dalton has added antlers to all the soldier's helmets in honor of Chopper.
  • In Alabasta, Vivi is looking at the horizon with a smile, while Carue is carefully clipping out photos of Luffy to paste them in a nearby book.
  • At Water Seven, Iceburg, Galley-La and the Franky Family react in horror and laughter at Franky's "new look" (really the General Franky on his Wanted Poster)
  • At Baltigo, Sabo is amused when he shows the bounties of his brother's troupe to Koala and Dragon.
  • At Future Land Baldimore, Kitton, his grandfather and several cyborg animals read about Franky and the Straw Hats.
  • At Torino Kingdom, the Natives read about Chopper and the Straw Hats. They also opened the Tanukichi Drug Store.
  • At Sabaody, Brook's former managers angrily (and drunkenly) tear up newspapers and Brook's new Wanted Poster.
  • Somewhere over the sea, Heracles still hasn't arrived back home to the Boin Archipelago.
  • At Weatheria, Haredas and his friends are all sporting new stylish clothes. Hoping Nami could see them now.
  • At the former Shikkeru Kingdom, Mihawk and Perona read the paper while eating rice balls.
  • At Kamabakka Kingdom, Ivankov and other Newkama are preparing for an event.
  • In Fishman Island, Shirahoshi and Fukaboshi are watching children play with some replicas of Luffy's straw hat.
  • At Sabaody, Rayleigh reads the paper while gambling.
  • On Rukusaina Island, Marguerite shows off Luffy's new Wanted Poster to the giant beasts he trained with. The beasts cry tears of joy at seeing their boss again.
  • On Amazon Lily, Hancock framed a giant version of Luffy's bounty picture on the walls of her palace, while the other Amazons cheer.
  • Somewhere in the New World, Kuzan reads the paper while eating.
  • In the ruins of an island, Yasopp and other members of the Red Hair Pirates read the paper, with Yasopp laughing over his son's success.
  • Finally, Shanks reads the paper while attending a wedding.

Tropes

  • Brick Joke: In the previous Decks of The World arc, it's revealed that the Baratie had an expansion ship themed after Sanji's hand drawn bounty poster. Now, since Sanji finally got an actual poster, Carne is seen frustrated as the design is now obsolete.
  • Call-Back: Once again, Genzo is mad about Nami's new wanted poster picture despite having it enlarged and framed on his wall, while Nojiko laughs.
  • Face Palm: Kojiro's reaction to seeing all the kids in his dojo trying to imitate Zoro.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Genzo complains about how shameless Nami's new wanted poster picture is, even though he's got a giant version printed on his wall. Again.
  • Irony: Generally, when people notice the General Franky, the guys tend to gawk over how kickass it is while the girls just stare at it blankly, not giving a crap. However, when Franky's friends saw the General on Franky's new wanted poster, the guys were the ones shocked and speechless, while the girls were laughing out loud.
  • Sequel Episode: To the first Decks of the World arc, only now focusing on reactions to Luffy's new bounty rather than the return of the Straw Hats.
  • Tears of Joy: The Usopp Pirates are so proud of Usopp's new bounties that they cry these. So do the animals on Rusukaina when Marguerite shows them how Luffy's doing.
