Recap / OKKO Lets Be Heroes S 2 E 18 Final Exams

Go To

K.O., Enid and Rad team up with an unlikely ally to take on an unlikely foe.

Tropes:

  • Actually a Doombot: Chip Damage turns out to have been a robot programmed to be an inspirational hero, but deviated from his programming and went rogue.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Oh does this get both ends of the barrel. On the good end Chip's actions are ultimately stopped and Elodie resolves to continue at P.O.I.N.T. to become a genuine inspiration to the world according to true heroic ideals rather than P.O.I.N.T.'s toxic beliefs. On the bad end Enid chooses to leave because she can't support what P.O.I.N.T believes in, Foxtail is shown to be responsible for Chip's actions and fires Grey when he finds out and protests her actions. Even worse is that she has unknown plans for the Plaza and anyone that can potentially stop her are none the wiser.
  • Book Ends: Enid and Sparko leave P.O.I.N.T Prep via a bus. Just like in Wisdom, Strength, and Charisma.
  • Changed My Mind, Kid: Elodie decides to not follow Enid in saving K.O. and Rad and goes to final exams instead. But when Enid is confronted by a pair of guards, Elodie saves her just in time and continues with her to face Chip.
  • Dressing as the Enemy: Enid and Elodie get into Chip Damage's office disguised as a pair of P.O.I.N.T. Troopers.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Enid tries to hide Rad's antennae (one of which was found the previous night) by using K.O. as a hat.
P.O.I.N.T Trooper: A hat made of boy... how very suspicious.
K.O.: Hey! Who are you calling spebicious?
  • Robotic Reveal: Much to Enid and Elodie's shock, they discover Chip Damage is a robot when Enid pokes his seemingly inert body and his head falls off.
  • Status Quo Is God: Enid quits P.O.I.N.T Prep and goes back to the Plaza.
  • Turned Against Their Masters: Greyman is Chip's creator, but he's as willing to attack him as he is the girls.
  • Wham Episode: The truth is finally revealed about Chip's actions. Namely that he's a robot created by Doctor Greyman to serve as an inspiration to the world and proof that P.O.I.N.T. could still be the heroes they were thought as following Laserblast's disappearance and the subsequent departure of El-Bow (a.k.a. Mr. Gar). Only he's deviated from his programming with the Gifted program and the heroes are forced to deactivate him. Enid chooses to leave P.O.I.N.T. because she can't support their current ideals. Foxtail reveals that she's the one responsible for Chip's actions, explaining that she's guiding P.O.I.N.T. and the idea of heroes in general in a much harsher and cynical direction. She fires Greyman for protesting her ideals and ends the episode ominously looking over a schematic of the Plaza.
