Recap / Numberjacks S 2 E 20 Hundreds And Thousands

Go To

Four plans on taking photos of everyone, starting with Zero, but Zero is moving too much, so he starts with One instead. Then, he takes two photos of Zero because the first one's smile was too goofy. One wants a picture of them together and Four takes it, reminding them that they make ten when they stand like that. Then, the alarm sounds.

Agent 44 tells the Numberjacks that two girls are trying to make a necklace but their beads disappeared until there were only a few, then there was only one. The room is clear apart from Jasper, so Six is launched. He lands on a door and goes down. Agent 81 then reports a man's baked beans disappearing and Agent 108 report's some gloves' fingers disappearing in the same way. Then, a boy near Six is playing in a ball pit when all the balls except a few, then except one, disappear. Right as they're wondering who the thief is, the Numbertaker shows up.

They make brain gain to get the things back but it doesn't work. They ask the agents why and Agent 44 suggests that maybe making brain gain for "a few" and "lots" is too general and they need to be more specific. They count the things and it turns out that "a few" actually equals ten. Zero and One make brain gain to make ten and this time it works. However, they still don't know how many things they need in total. Agent 81 suggests it might be a hundred, so they try, using Zero's photo as the extra zero. It turns out, a hundred is the right number.

However, a boy is making a LEGO castle with a lot more than a hundred bricks, but then they disappear leaving about a hundred, then ten, then one. Agent 44 suggests that maybe he had a thousand bricks to start with, which leads to Five imagining the Numbertaker taking from a thousand birds. They try making brain gain for a thousand by using Zero's other photo as the third zero.

This brain gain is too powerful for Six to handle alone, so Three calls the agents to help him. A hundred agents help use the brain gain to chase away the Numbertaker by holding up their fingers (to make a thousand fingers). Six comes back and after the recap, Four takes a group photo while asking the viewers to find things that come in tens, hundreds, and thousands.

This episode provides examples of

  • Big Word Shout: All the Numberjacks except Zero shout, "Hooray!" at the end.
  • The Cameo: Looking closely, the Agents who arrive to help Six are not just random children; Agent 58, Agent 37, and Agent 99 can be spotted, among others.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The photos of Zero that are taken at the beginning end up being used later in the episode.
  • Kid Hero: While Numberjacks always uses kid heroes, here it's exaggerated, using all the school-aged agents (except for eight of them, apparently) and having the baby Numberjacks play an important role.
  • Sticky Fingers: The Numbertaker's taking things again.
