While the city of Angel Grove celebrates the Power Rangers, Rita Repulsa makes her boldest move yet when she transports the entire population to another dimension. Enlisting the malevolent Lokar and the evil war zord Cyclopsis, Rita overpowers the Rangers and nearly destroys their zords.

- Big Damn Heroes: Titanus pulls this, charging onto the scene in attack mode with Zordon's command and blasting the Megazord and Dragonzord free from Cyclopsis' shock cables.
- Attempted vice-versa with the rangers trying to pull out Titanus from the sinkhole but a shot from Rita prevents it.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Cyclopsis absolutely decimates the Rangers' Zords, barely being damaged by them. It eventually took the Ultrazord to defeat it.
- Monster of the Week: Cyclopsis.
- Wham Episode: Given that this was intended to be the Grand Finale for the original 40-episode run of the show, it has a couple of these:
- There are evil zords out there, with Goldar's Cyclopsis being the first shown. It's not the focus of the episode, but up till that point, no zord was presented as full-on malevolent (the Dragonzord seemingly obeys whoever possesses the Dragon Dagger as established later and Tommy was being brainwashed by a spell at the time it was first summoned, so it doesn't count).
- Not to mention, it shows that a ranger isn't necessary to pilot a zord.
