Lizzie can't go to heartthrob Danny Kessler's pool party due to her grandmother's 80th birthday party falling on the same day. Due to Lizzie's absence, Miranda becomes temporary best friends with Kate Sanders again.
NOTE: Although this is the fourth episode in airing order, this was The Pilot episode of the series.
Contains examples of:
- An Aesop: Missing out on a big event that may define your youth is no big deal if you have fun elsewhere with your best friends as compensation.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Since this is the pilot, many inconsistencies contradict the previous three episodes.
- Some scenes show Animated!Lizzie looking much thinner and with less thick outlines.
- Gordo both looks and sounds younger than he was shown in the previous three episodes, due to his actor being a late bloomer and starting puberty later into production.
- The credits aren't preceded by outtake bloopers.
- Former Friend of Alpha Bitch: Deconstructed. Miranda becomes best friends with Kate again (temporarily, at least).
- Hormone-Addled Teenager: Lizzie reveals in a flashback that her mother constantly uses hormones as an explanation to Lizzie's mood swings and behavior as her brain and body change during adolescence. She does it again during the kitchen scene.
