Season 1, Episode 10: Village of the Found

Tropes That Appear In This Episode:

  • Actual Pacifist: Because Satan revels in violence and carnage, the commune Chrissy's siblings founded made violence — even killing in self-defense — their biggest taboo. While their Utility Magic works to a point, they have been fighting furries for decades with the intent on reforming them, but with little luck until Chrissy gives them a power boost. When she is forced to kill some of them when they start destroying the village, it ends with Millipede being killed and Chrissy being excommunicated from the commune.
  • As Himself: Richard Kind plays himself as one of the villagers.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Chrissy is alienated by her half-siblings in her attempts at saving them and has a whole new reason to hate her dad, but she makes up with her mom and has decided to stop letting other people's expectations of her beat down her self-esteem. Plus, her friendship with Bennigan is restored. Unfortunately, Bennigan has been unwittingly recruited by the angels to act as their mole, and Satan has a whole new way to manipulate Chrissy through Laura.
  • The Cameo: Mel Brooks voices Chrissy's half-sibling Millipede.
  • Despair Event Horizon: The Unshaven Man holding Bennigan and his family hostage as a trap to kill Chrissy is the last straw. She tearfully tells him to Get It Over With because she feels like she screws up everything she touches and the world would be better off without her. This shocks Bennigan into wanting to help her again.
  • Really Gets Around: Here we find out that Chrissy is by far not the first kid Satan has had, having slain a fair amount of "poon" since he came into existence, an entire Anarcho-Communistic commune being made up of his rejected hellspawn.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Laura, Satan and the Unshaven Man are left wandering a giant labyrinth with no weapons or occult powers, being hunted by a foo-dog esq guardian for months in order to find Chrissy. By the time they pass their Secret Test of Character, the guardian tells them that she had returned home by then. Satan finds the irony hilarious.
