Tropes:

• Bait the Dog: Naare presents herself as a benevolent Jedi who saves Rowan's siblings from Stormtroopers and then saves their bacon when the landlord demands rent. She then offers to train Rowan so that he can learn how to harness his Force sensitivity. Then we find out that she's working for the Emperor and using Rowan to obtain the Kyber Saber crystals.
• Butt-Monkey:
  • Roger is this, as per usual for battle droids.
  • Darth Vader as well, given that both of his appearances involve the Emperor dunking on him for allowing the first Death Star to be blown up.
• Obviously Evil: Lampshaded when Naare refers to the Emperor as "kind, benevolent, and wise", only for Rowan to interject that the "he seems creepy, clammy, and his teeth are all weird." Played With when it turns out that in spite of all this, it's never occurred to Rowan that the Emperor is outright evil.
  • The fact that Naare has such kind words for the Emperor could also be Foreshadowing her true allegiance.
• The Reveal: The ending of the episode reveals that Naare is secretly working for the Empire.
