- Even the Rats Won't Touch It: Averted much to the staff's relief during the initial sampling. After being unimpressed with a turkey patty melt, Gordon subsequently feeds some of it to Tubs, a patron's dog. The restaurant manager expressed relief that they ate it because he thought they were screwed if not even a dog liked it.
- Inherently Funny Words: A dish on the menu is called Mogodofu. Even the waiter telling Ramsay about it can't help but chuckle at its silly name.
- Never Trust a Trailer: The trailer seemed to indicate that the owner, Dean, would be arrested. It was actually Gordon having the owner handcuffed as part of an exercise to show him how much better the restaurant could run if he directed verbally instead of doing the jobs himself.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Chef Aurelio decides to leave the restaurant on relaunch night after he's yelled at by Dean. He later returns out of respect for Chef Ramsay, but refuses to resume work until he's paid some money he's owed.
