Following the previous episode, Satsuki annouces the Natural Elections where any student (including the Elite Four) who wishes can fight for the chance to join the Student Council.

- Brick Joke: As the tournament starts, the Elite Four decide to use it for some down time, with it being mentioned Ira finally got his license. Later in the episode, he comes across Ryuko and Mako in his car after their scooter runs out of gas.
- Everyone Has Standards: Despite their differences, Ira isn't going to leave Ryuko or Mako stranded on the road.
- Flashback: We get two in this episode.
- Ryuko recounting the day her father died and her house was destroyed.
- We see part of Ira's where he met Satsuki for the first time after she beat two corrupt students that Ira was powerless to stop due to their family connections.
- Foreshadowing: Ryuko gets a preview of the power of Ira's Goku Uniform. She would later face him during the next episode.
- Strolling Through the Chaos: As the Elections begin, the Elite Four walk through brawling masses as if they were taking a stroll through the park. Backhanding everyone who rushes them while they nonchalantly have a conversation.
- The Alleged Car: Scooter in this case. Mako's father brought one for Ryuko to use. However the fuel gauge on it was broken meaning she couldn't tell how much gas was in it until it was too late.
- Tournament Arc: The start of the Natural Elections, an anything-goes contest where the school fight to become the new school council. It throws the whole city into disarray as students fight one another for the chance. Though ultimately it just comes down to Ryuko and the Elite Four.
