Wally goes to look for inspiration in the mountains. At night, a heavy snowstorm begins, and Wally cautiously goes down but suddenly falls through the snow and breaks his skis. He wakes up inside a small house, after which he lights a match and is frightened by a wolf skin hanging on the wall. Wally burns his broken skis, paper, and bag in the fireplace. He sits down at the table and tries to write a poem but falls asleep.
The next day, Wally gets to work. He collects firewood for the hearth, heats snow for tea, and cleans the house of snow. In the evening, he sits down to write poetry again but falls asleep again. The next day, Wally continued to work. He cuts down tree branches and continues to clear the house of snow. The whole day goes by at work, and when Wally sits down to write poetry in the evening, he falls asleep at the table again.
Rosa comes to the mountains, sees trees with severed branches, and finds Wally's hat. She is looking for him and calling him when suddenly a tree falls on her. When she wakes up in the house, she sees a stranger in wolf skin and is scared of him, but when she sees that it's Wally, she faints. Later, Rosa talks to Wally and decides to do the work herself so that nothing distracts Wally from inspiration. The next day, she gets to work rather clumsily and refuses to accept Wally's help. Wally is very bored with nothing to do. He sees Rosa's skis, and the next moment, he rushes down the mountain with a joyful laugh. Meanwhile, Rosa calls Wally for lunch, but no one responds.
