Allison and Patty quickly get to work to move the subdued Neil out of the McRoberts' kitchen. Allison calls her aunt and former boss Diane to lend her a wheeled cart to haul him out. It's then that Diane reveals that she's just found out her husband Chuck has been cheating on her for the last ten years. After they move him into Patty's basement, Neil begins to wake up and spews malicious barbs at both, getting venom back in kind.
Meanwhile, Kevin and Pete try to come up with an ad for Kevin's political campaign and disagree on how to approach it. Allison suggests to Kevin that he simply be his authentic self for it. When Kevin shows them the ad he made, it's a nonsensical mess, much to Pete's horror. Kevin gets a call from the mayor informing him he's been disqualified from the running.
Patty goes on a date with Tammy, where she tries to dig a little more into why Tammy doesn't like Allison. Later, after a tense discussion with Neil and seeing how badly he's bleeding, Patty takes Neil to the hospital.
Allison goes out for drinks with Diane, trying to comfort her. She then sees Kevin's "Worcester Wild Dude" ad playing on the TV; it became a viral sensation, turning Kevin into a local celebrity. Drunk and aggravated, Allison tries to drive back home only to veer off the road and crash into a ditch. While recuperating from her injuries at the hospital, she encounters Patty and they discuss where to go from here. Patty calls Allison out on always acting like a victim.
The next morning, Kevin giddily asks Allison to accompany him to a photoshoot and tells her to fix herself up. This gives Allison a new idea to get away from Kevin - fake her own death.

- Armor-Piercing Question: Neil asks Allison if "nagging" at Kevin has ever accomplished anything. It makes her realize that all her attempts at trying to get Kevin to act more reasonably were generally fruitless. Then...
- Armor-Piercing Response: Allison gives a cutting one to Neil by pointing out that they're both victims of Kevin's toxicity in different ways.Allison: Maybe he doesn't care when I whine, but he laughs when you bleed.
- Berserk Button: Neil pushes Patty's when he brings up their dead mother. He gets a hard purple nurple in response.
- Cassandra Truth: Neil tries to tell a nurse that Patty and Allison tried to kill him, but she simply blows it off as him rambling incoherently due to hitting his head.
- Cringe Comedy: Kevin's political ads are pretty hilariously terrible.
- Faking the Dead: Allison gives up trying to kill Kevin and decides to do this instead.
- Running Gag: Allison's tendency to injure other men that aren't Kevin. Here, she hits Neil over the head with a kettle, intending it to be a light tap, only for it to be a lot harder than she expected, which just exacerbates Neil's head injury.
- Springtime for Hitler: Zigzagged Trope. While Allison's suggestion to Kevin that he "be himself" for his campaign ad announcement does successfully convince the Mayor of Worcester to disqualify Kevin from the city council running, it does go viral as an Internet meme and makes Kevin a local celebrity.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Neil gets hit hard on the same spot on his head twice, first by a beer bottle and second by a kettle, and it's not a Tap on the Head either. When his bleeding won't heal and he slumps over unconscious, Patty is forced to get him to the hospital where he has to get the wound properly attended to.
