Recap / Kaeloo S 4 E 6 Lets Play Cupid Dot Com

Go To

Pretty gives Mr. Cat a Love Potion disguised as a soda can to make him fall in love with her, but it backfires because he falls in love with the soda can the potion came in.

"Let's Play cupid.com" contains the following tropes:

  • Downer Ending: Stumpy screwed up the spell that was supposed to return Mr. Cat back to normal and made the soda can come to life, but now it's in love with Pretty, and Mr. Cat is screaming and crying and begging for the can to come back. Ursula is pissed off at Stumpy and refuses to speak to him. Eugly decides that she and Quack Quack are going on a break because she can't deal with his yogurt addiction anymore. Kaeloo, who is heavily implied to still be upset about Mr. Cat being in love with a soda can, cynically tells the audience that "love stories always end badly" and begins crying out of solidarity.
  • It's All About Me: Kaeloo actually wants Mr. Cat to beat Quack Quack up so that she can tell him not to, because without it she feels like she has no purpose in life... and because she wants his attention to be focused on her.
  • Mood Whiplash: Kaeloo reveals that without Mr. Cat constantly bullying everyone, she has no purpose in life, and she starts crying about how "useless" she is. We are then treated to a Mocking Singsong by Stumpy about how Kaeloo has a crush on Mr. Cat and is jealous of a soda can.
  • Mocking Singsong: Stumpy realizes that Kaeloo is jealous of the soda can and starts singing "Kaeloo has a crush on Mr. Cat!" while making kissing noises.
  • We Want Our Jerk Back!: and he spends all his time with his soda can instead of being a jerk to the people around him and pissing Kaeloo off. Kaeloo is fairly distraught about Mr. Cat not trying to bully anyone because her entire sense of purpose relied on stopping him from bullying, and also because his attention isn't focused on annoying her and she loves being the focus of his attention.
