- Cloneopoly: Me-Me-Nopoly is an obvious stand-in for Monopoly.
- Fisher King / Red Sky, Take Warning: Once Mr. Cat becomes the king of Smileyland, the sky turns red to signify the evil of his rule.
- Polluted Wasteland: When Mr. Cat successfully takes over Smileyland, he takes steps to ensure that Smileyland turns into a polluted wasteland. Fortunately, Kaeloo is able to stop him.
