Darius, Brooklyn and Sammy comes across a group of caged and starving dinosaurs that were forgotten during the evacuation and have to make a choice of whether to free one of the park's carnivores. Meanwhile, Kenji helps to look after Yaz while her ankle is still sprained after her close encounter with the Mosasaurus.

  • Androcles' Lion: The show realistically averts this trope, the kids free the caged Baryonyx, but both she and her pack mates are simply animals with no concept of gratitude and continue to pose a threat for the rest of the season.
  • Artistic License – Paleontology: Darius and Sammy come across a Stegosaurus plate, and Darius explains the Stegosaurus shed them like antlers. This is inaccurate to actual Stegosaurus plates, which were permanent throughout the animals’ lives.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: On the one hand, Kenji isn’t wrong when he points out Yaz’s determination to not be a burden and to compete with the others is hurting herself worse, and she REALLY needs to sit and let her ankle heal. On the other hand, Kenji isn’t being useful at all, and if he was doing the work, she wouldn’t have to.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: While the Baryonyx are not evil and are simply predatory animals, it is seeing that they are a family that protects each other that convinces Darius to free and reunite one with its siblings.
  • "Everybody Helps Out" Denouement: At the end of the episode, the campers band together to start constructing their new home, except for Yaz, who spends her time designing the place.
  • Lazy Bum: Kenji is one in particular in this episode, and espouses its virtues. He claims he has never cleaned his room in his life.
  • Locked Up and Left Behind: An accidental version; the Jurassic World vets cleared out so quickly that they left several dinosaurs in holding cages, where they would have slowly starved to death if the campers hadn’t found them.
  • Savage Spinosaurs: The three Baryonyx are aggressive enough to chase a trio of much larger Stegosaurus out of the area.
  • Take a Third Option: Unwilling to sit around and do nothing while her ankle heals, but unable to work on the new shelter without hurting herself worse, Yaz settles on designing how the shelter will be built.
  • Xenophobic Herbivore: After being freed from their cages, a trio of Stegosaurus go out of their way to corner Chaos and Limbo.
