- Rather than overwhelming Section 13 and trying to conquer Earth, the freed Oni Generals instead go to Meridian to join their allies.
- Instead of Tohru, it's Jade who travels to the Shadow Realm to retrieve Tarakudo's mask, since as the Guardian of Shadows, she's the only one who can avoid being corrupted by the place.
- Mass "Oh, Crap!": All the heroes at the climax, when Wong successfully resurrects Shendu.
- Named by the Adaptation: With the exception of Ikazuki, none of the other Oni Generals were named in canon, but here they're named Kiiro, Midori, Murasaki, Kuro, Orenji, Mosugurin, Aka and Rairakku.
- Shut Up, Hannibal!: During the showdown, we have this exchange between Tarakudo and Jade:Tarakudo: I would have given you everything! You could have ruled by my side as Queen of the Shadowkhan! But you threw it all away!Jade: You tried to force that on me! I'd rather fight with my best friends and family than rule by your side!
- Storming the Castle: This chapter sees the canonical storming of Phobos' castle by the Rebellion and Guardians, now with the J-Team and Section 13 added in.
