With their Power Animals and the Gao Jewels both frozen, the Gaorangers are powerless and mercilessly beaten by Shuten and his lackeys. As all hope seems lost, the legendary Soul Bird emerges at last, but as victory becomes certain is this truly the final battle?

- Darkest Hour: The Gaorangers are powerless and about to be tortured to death by Shuten. Thankfully their spirits allow them to thaw out the jewels and fight back. Then in the giant battle, Shuten flattens GaoMuscle with ease and is close to killing it and the Gaorangers before the newly-matured Soul Bird arrives to turn the tide.
- Disney Death: Tsuetsue and Yabaiba are crushed underneath rubble dropped by Shuten's growth and we get a Dead-Hand Shot to confirm neither survived. Then at the end of the episode Ura revives them to aid him.
- Next Tier Power-Up: The Soul Bird isn't a traditional new Power Animal, rather instead being a power-boost for both GaoMuscle and GaoKing so they can defeat Shuten (who had been easily pummeling GaoMuscle earlier), allowing GaoLion to recover as well.
- Wham Episode: Shuten is defeated at last, but the battle against the Orgs isn't over as the second Highness Duke, Ura, emerges to carry on the fight.
- Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: The Gaoranger defeat Shuten... And he survives and comes back for Round 2 only to be finished off by a new Highness Duke, Ura, who even revives Yabaiba and Tsuetsue for good measure before promising to torment the Gaoranger in the coming days. The team is understandably distraught about the battle not being over yet.
