Recap / Hathorne MMBC

Go To

The Hathorne MMBC is a Murder Mystery Bachelorette Challenge with not one, not two, but three hostesses: Barzilla, Presela, and Relicta Hathorne, a trio of witches for whom time is a far greater enemy than death. It may be read from the beginning here.

{To do: add plot synopsis}

    Deaths and Survivors (spoilers)
Barzilla
  1. Cornelius Vander - neck broken by a chest
  2. Marquise Taylor - electrocution while under the influence of a love spell
  3. Logan Talbot - drowned in an apple bobbing tub full of water
  4. Independence Rollsford (only just qualifies as alive)
  5. Perdita La Beau, winner
Presela
  1. Blanche Floris - poisoned alongside Deidre Elliot
  2. Harper Lavandin - lethal haunting curse
  3. Dani Lins - dehydration
  4. Daneel Noyes - haunting curse
  5. Champagne Arsenic, winner
Relicta
  1. Kamryn Dwyer - burnt at the stake
  2. Deidre Elliot - poisoned alongside Blanche Floris
  3. Ikaros Mc Nair - drowning while frozen in place with ice
  4. Sprite - haunting curse
  5. Sabby Cabino, murderer and winner

This MMBC provides examples of:

  • Burn the Witch!: The way the first victim goes.
  • Downer Ending: Fuck yes. Not only is Independence given the aforementioned ironic punishment... but they got the wrong Sim. Nobody knows the truth but Sabby Cabino and the voiceless abomination that Independence has become.
  • Forced Transformation: Independence. His punishment for being the killer is to be turned into a cow plant, a staple of the Sims series that feeds off of the flesh of other Sims to be milked for their essence.
  • Interactive Narrator: Two, to be precise; a first for a tosimornottosim project. The narrators, Bela Kowalski and Li Whitaker, ultimately become the Beta Couple.
  • The Voice: Persistently so for the majority, but ultimately overturned for the tail end of the penultimate episode and the finale.
  • Voodoo Zombie: Ruth Chrysanthemum, brought back by Presela to serve as a (somewhat ineffectual) bodyguard. It's implied that the two families had previous connections.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To Hocus Pocus! Only with a much darker turn, obviously.
