Monica convinces a reluctant Chandler to travel to Las Vegas to invite his estranged cross-dressing father to their wedding. Meanwhile, Rachel is furious that she is the only friend who Monica has not allowed to drive the Porsche that her father gave her.

- Brick Joke: Chandler makes an off-hand comment about his father having been with a Mr. Garibaldi. At the end of the episode, Chandler realizes that's the guy playing the piano at the club.
- Drives Like Crazy: Rachel isn't allowed to drive Monica's Porsche because she's a horrible driver whose license is expired. She eventually gets pulled over for being over the speed limit. The officer lets her go with a warning after Ross agrees to take the wheel...but then he gets pulled over for driving too far below the limit.
- Have I Mentioned I Am Heterosexual Today?: Chandler is clearly uncomfortable in the club and makes a point of noting in a very masculine tone that he'd "ordered a beer", to the point where one of the employees outright tells him, "You're straight. I get it."
- Old Friend, New Gender: Chandler's father, who he hasn't seen for years, is now a beautiful transwoman named Charles Bing / Helena Handbasket.
- Pronoun Trouble: Monica has trouble knowing how to refer to the wait staff in the club.
- Queer People Are Funny: Chandler's "dad" wearing dresses, being gay and transgender is the punchline for many jokes in this (and the following episodes).
- Sexy Shirt Switch: Joey learns that Phoebe and her Guy of the Week have swapped underwear for kicks. Joey's squicked out by the guy wearing her panties, but admits hearing that Phoebe is wearing boxers is "kinda hot".
- Show Some Leg: Rachel flirts with the traffic cop that pulls her over for speeding and is eventually let go without a fine, so it appears to have worked for her.
- Trans Relationship Troubles: Chandler already had a strained relationship with his father and is more conflicted when he learns his father is now transgender. He comes to accept her for who she is now.
