Blaine Sternin, Lilith's con man of a half-brother, visits Frasier, claiming to have reformed on account of now being paralyzed, but Frasier, who has been conned by him countless times, refuses to be suckered in again.
Tropes:
- Crying Wolf: On account of being a repeat victim of Blaine's scams, Frasier understandably doesn't believe that Blaine has truly been paralyzed. He turns out to be correct.
- Downer Ending: Played for Laughs. Blaine has duped not only Frasier yet again, but also his brother, father, future sister-in-law and a majority of Seattle and gets away scot-free.
- Properly Paranoid: After Frasier finally lets his skepticism go, he finds out that he was right not to trust Blaine when Martin tells him about some stuff Blaine has said that he actually got from Frasier.
- Made Out to Be a Jerkass: When Frasier finally has enough of Blaine's act, he forces him off the wheelchair in front of a bunch of people and yet Blaine does not move. Too bad Frasier ended up being right in the end.
- Special Guest: Michael Keaton as Blaine Sternin.
- The Tag: Martin tries to cheat at the 'parlor trick' Blaine showed him to do earlier by putting some paper in his right leg to avoid felling the pain of the needle. When he makes Daphne stab him with the needle, she chooses the left leg, causing him pain and prompting Martin to chase her.
- The Unreveal: It is not explained who Dr. Kagen (the doctor who confirmed that Blaine was paralyzed) really was. Presumably, he was someone Blaine paid to pose as a doctor so his con would be successful.
