When Frasier begins receiving extravagant gifts, he believes he has a secret admirer. It's soon revealed that they're from Maris, and that the gifts are meant for Niles in order to coax him back to her, but Niles is not having it.

- Brick Joke: Early on, Martin mentions that his job as dad generally consisted of taking the boys for ice cream when bad things happened. At the end of the episode, he does it again.
- Downer Ending: Frasier (naturally) blows things with Nancy, while Maris vows to make Niles's divorce as miserable as possible.
- No-Sell: Niles refuses to be drawn back to Maris by the gifts. Too bad it doesn't end well for him.
- Rhetorical Question Blunder: A humorous variantion happens when Niles receives another gift from Maris.Niles: What is wrong with that women!Martin: Why don’t you start, Frasier? I’ll jump in when you get hoarse.
- Tranquil Fury: Maris's initial reaction to Niles rejecting her bribe attempts.
