Go To

Frasier tries to stop young Frederick from realizing that he's not a perfect father when he fills in for the radio station's baseball team. Meanwhile, Niles becomes jealous when Frederick takes a special liking to Daphne.

Tropes:

  • All for Nothing: Bulldog lies to Freddie and Frasier tries to learn how to play baseball so Freddie won't be disappointed by his dad. Except, as Freddie eventually admits, he already realised that Frasier isn't perfect and has accepted it.
Freddie: You couldn't fix my computer, you thought Venus was the North Star, and I've seen you run!
  • Athletically Challenged: Frasier cannot play softball at all. Martin tries to coach him at a local batting cage, but even with the machine on the lowest setting he still struggles to hit the ball.
  • Do Wrong, Right: Bulldog says every son goes through a Broken Pedestal moment with his father; Bulldog's was when he came home from school and found his father in bed with another woman. Frasier starts to commiserate, but Bulldog says that wasn't the bad part:
She was ugly, Doc. I mean, coyote ugly. My own dad.
  • Lies to Children: Bulldog tells Freddie that Frasier is great at baseball because he doesn't want to be the one to tell a kid that his dad isn't perfect.
  • Precocious Crush: Freddie has one on Daphne. She finds it charming but Niles is incredibly jealous.
