Roz has heard a juicy piece of gossip that one of the highly paid stars on KACL has to be fired and tells Frasier, which soon results in an interesting chain of events.
Tropes:
- Cannot Keep a Secret: Frasier is a little unclear on the definition of "don't tell anyone".
- Cigar Chomper: Ned.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Ned, the current station manager, has a serious temper.
- Irony: When Frasier goes to talk to Ned to get Bulldog's job back as a result of his own mistakes, Ned reveals he hadn't been planning on firing Bulldog at all. Rather, he'd been planning to fire Frasier.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Just after he reveals this fact, Ned is phoned by the higher-ups of KACL who inform him they've found their own cost-cutting measure: Fire Ned. Frasier takes malicious glee in rubbing this fact in.
- Meaningful Echo: Ned not-exactly-reassures Frasier that in radio, people tend to bounce back eventually. When he's fired, Frasier throws this back at him.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Frasier gets Bulldog fired.
- That Came Out Wrong: Ned angrily recalls how Bulldog insulted his temper and drinking problem, and called his wife a "big, fat, drunken slut". Frasier, ever ready to be helpful, chimes in with "she's not overweight." And then he realizes what he's said.
