    Chapter 6: Into The Ground
A conflicted Corrin orders Ryoma to stand down, but clarifies that he cannot side with Xander either. Unwilling to betray both of his families, Corrin calls for peace between them in hopes to get them both to cooperate. However, hostilities soon commence with him, Azura and late comer Felicia stuck on the sidelines. Taking matters into both hands, this new splinter faction attempts to get both sides to communicate by defeating Hoshidan and Nohrian forces. However, both sides denounce their actions and label Corrin as a traitor.

With no hope of communication between the warring countries for the meantime, Corrin and Azura proceed down a third path: one which will see them fighting against both Hoshido and Nohr.

    Chapter 7: Unspeakable World
With no one to turn to, Azura brings Corrin and Felicia to the Bottomless Canyon, which serves as a gateway to the hidden Kingdom of Valla. She explains that the wasteland they saw was once a peaceful kingdom which was conquered by the mad dragon Anankos; he has now set his sights onto both Hoshido and Nohr, and manipulated both sides into fighting and destroying each other for his own gain. Corrin believes that he must tell his families, but Azura tells him of the Vallite curse: speaking about the kingdom while outside of it will result in the speaker dying and being reduced to water. The trio are soon ambushed inside a system of caves by Vallite warriors, and survive after a timely reunion with Gunter, who had survived his earlier fall.

After returning back to the real world thanks to the assistance of an unknown woman, Corrin announces his intention to unite both Hoshido and Nohr against Anankos before the path to Valla is closed for the next few decades. Azura suggests seeking an audience with Hoshido first, believing them to be more responsive.

    Chapter 8: Traitor's Brand
At Fort Jinya, Corrin's group is met by Yukimura, furious about their defection from Hoshido. With no way to convince him yet, the party is forced into battle with the Hoshidan regiment in the garrison. After their victory, Yukimura wonders why they have not been killed yet as Corrin states his intentions of peace. Kaze and Sakura appear to vouch for Corrin's word and listen as he explains their quest to fight the true culprit behind Mikoto's death, although he cannot reveal more due to the curse. The two agree to join their cause when the others opt not to, with Sakura's retainers Hana, a samurai and Sakura's childhood friend, and Subaki, a perfectionist sky knight, joining them out of Yukimura's order to look over Sakura.

    Chapter 9: Wanderer
Back in Nohr, it's revealed that Garon is aware of Corrin's resolve to stop the war as well as his true nature. However, he claims its of no difference as he will claim the world easily. Elise overhears and decides she needs to get involved somehow, but is stopped by Camilla, who then says that the best course of action is to stand by for safety reasons, herself not too happy about it.

Meanwhile, Corrin's party are heading to the Eternal Stairway to Izumo. However, they are ambushed by Faceless on the way, and they are dispatched. But they are revealed to be members of the Wind Tribe under an illusion! The party realizes they need to explain what happened. Unsurprisingly, they are met with anything but a warm welcome, with Fuga, the Wind Cheiftain, enraged over the attack and has heard of rumors over him planning to destroy both kingdoms. Rinkah, the same woman who was spared back in Nohr, decides to fight for Corrin, believing in him.

After a long fight, Fuga is convinced that Corrin means well. After a clearing, Hayato offers to join, then the party resumes on the way to Izumo

Chapter 10: Voice of a God
After arriving in Izumo, the party stops by to see the Archduke of the Kingdom, Izana. Although Izana claims to know nothing about the Seal of Flames, the rest of the party begins to beg for him to remember even the tinest detail, only for Gunter to catch on to the fact that this was not the real Izana, but a Nohrian illusionist named Zola!

After Corrin's party digs through the snow field that he plants and cornering him, Zola tries to grab a hostage in hopes of surviving, but is executed by Leo out of his disgust towards the formers cowardice, then Leo tells Corrin that he won't be so friendly as to not attack them if they meet again after showing them the location of the real Izana and Takumi.

Izana, being grateful of Corrin's rescue, tells Corrin that the Seal of Flames does exist physically, but knows nothing otherwise. He then does a communion with the gods to answer Corrin's question, to confirm that his goal is sincere and that Takumi, who isn't convinced, should go with him, then dying, claiming that he had to pay to communicate to the gods. After seeing this, Takumi decides to join after being convinced, with his retainers, a hot-blooded samurai named Hinata, and a spear fighter with a harsh sense of hatred towards Nohrains named Oboro, joining as well.

    Chapter 11: Mutual Enemies
During their travels, Corrin spots smoke in the distance. Kaze recognizes the smoke as a signal created by his brother Saizo, a ninja and retainer to Ryoma. The smoke signal is a warning to avoid the area, due to a large contingent of enemies. Corrin, however, is determined to help Saizo if he is in danger.

The forest where the smoke signal was made is crawling with ninja from the Mokujin tribe. Their leader, Kotaro, had allied with Garon and sided against Hoshido in the hopes of taking over the country for themselves. To that end, they had kidnapped Kagero, another ninja and retainer for Ryoma.

Corrin leads his party against the Mokujin and emerge victorious over Kotaro. Saizo and Kagero are suspicious of Corrin, but Kagero reconsiders when Takumi voices his support for Corrin. Saizo agrees to travel with Corrin to aid Ryoma, who was last seen travelling to the country of Cheve, on the Nohrian border.

    Chapter 12: Frozen Sea
Corrin's party board a ship bound for Cheve. Their journey is halted, however, when the oceans freeze solid, trapping the ship. The group find themselves assailed by soldiers led by Camilla, ordered by the kind to kill Corrin; and Flora, who has been forced to bear arms against Corrin for the sake of her family in the Ice Tribe.

Corrin emerges victorious in the battle that ensues. Camilla asks Corrin to execute her, but Corrin cannot bring himself to kill his older Nohrian sister. He, instead, invites Camilla to join him in bringing an end to the war. Camilla accepts and joins Corrin's party, as does her retainers; Selena, a fierce tomboyish swordswoman; and Beruka, a wyvern-riding assassin. Flora is also invited to join, but she declines; she wants to tend to the Ice Tribe and keep them safe, but she offers to join Corrin later.

    Chapter 13: A Lost Peace
When Corrin's party arrive in Cyrkensia, they find the once-bustling port city in ruins. Amidst the rubble, they find two beastmen; Kaden the kitsune, and Keaton the wolfskin. According to them, Cyrkensia appeared to begin to decay and fall apart without reason, as though assailed by invisible forces; a sign that Corrin and Azura recognize as the town falling under siege by Vallites.

On the outskirts of town, Hoshidans and Nohrians fight each other, led by Ryoma and Xander. Corrin tries to intercede, but both warriors believe the other attempting to invade their homelands, even though the Vallites are to blame.

Even with Ryoma and Xander at each other's throats, Corrin manages to find the leader of the Vallite soldiers in Cyrkensia and defeats them. Azura manages to quell the fighting between Corrin's elder brothers with the power of her song, dispelling the spell the Vallites cast to turn their aggression on one another.

Corrin asks Ryoma and Xander to join him, but Xander remains weary of him. Ryoma is not yet ready to join, either. Corrin becomes acquainted with Scarlet, the leader of Cheve's anti-Nohrian resistance movement. When Corrin asks about the "dragon" from Izana's prophecy, Ryoma suggests asking the Rainbow Sage at Notre Sagesse, a wise old man who had been approached by Ryoma, Xander, King Sumeragi, and Garon before.

    Chapter 14: Orders
Xander returns to Nohr, but begins to take note of Corrin's warnings about an external force and a possible coalition with Hoshido. He witnesses Garon's interactions with a mysterious presence driving him to destroy both Hoshido and Nohr, and a similarly wavering Leo ponder upon their rendezvous with Corrin at the Bottomless Canyon.

At Port Dia, Corrin is accosted by Nohrian troops led by a knight named Silas, who claims to be an old childhood friend. Corrin himself expresses unfamiliarity, and is subsequently attacked when the soldiers attack under orders from Garon. Unexpected assistance is provided by Elise, her retainers Arthur and Effie, and mercenaries Benny and Charlotte, who have been recruited to her cause because of their close proximity to the conflict. With their numbers advantage, Corrin's coalition successfully repel the attack.

With Silas defeated, Corrin questions why he held back despite his orders. Silas recants his tale: as children, Corrin saved his life from a wrongful execution, and he has kept this close to him since by his honor as a knight. This jogs the prince's memory, inspiring him to recruit Silas - not only to spare him from Garon's wrath, but to save Hoshido and Nohr from destroying themselves.

On the ferry, the fruits of Corrin's union begin to show results, as Elise and Sakura make each other's acquaintance and begin to bond rather quickly, with Azura wistfully spectating.

    Chapter 15: Rainbow Sage
At Notre Sagesse, Corrin's army come across an old man who question why they must meet the Rainbow Sage, and points them to the Sevenfold Sanctuary to meet them upon recognizing the Yato in their possession. The trek is a tiring affair, and even after their arrival, the group must fend off illusions guarding the Sage's keep. They survive with the aid of two newcomers to their cause: the bandit Shura and the youthful mage Nyx.

After completing the illusions' trials, the group inexplicably returns to the same hut owned by the old man, revealed to be the Rainbow Sage himself. Corrin expresses his desire to end the war by seeking out the dragon who could help them; in response, the Sage enhances the Yato's power, transforming it into the Alpha Yato. While a more fearsome weapon, its true power can only be unlocked in the presence of the four other divine weapons: the Raijinto, Fujin Yumi, Brynhildr and Siegfried - all currently owned by Corrin's brothers from both nations; doing so would lead to the creation of the Fire Emblem, the only weapon capable of felling Anankos.

With the Alpha Yato taking the last of his power, the Sage collapses and peacefully passes away. Before dying, he reveals himself as one of the first dragons - the one Corrin and Azura have been searching for - and encourages the young prince to choose his own destiny.

Chapter 16 and 17: White Flames and Black Flames
Corrin's group converges at the Lava Fields near the Bottomless Canyon, and are accosted by Nohrian troops led by Hans. Despite initially being outmatched, the tides turn with the arrival of Ryoma, Hinoka, her retainers Azama and Setsuna, and Scarlet - a rebel sympathetic to Hoshido's plight. Together, they are able to route Hans and advance to the Bottomless Canyon itself, only for a second batch of Nohrian soldiers led by Iago to stand in their way.

As with their Hoshidan counterparts before them, Xander and Leo arrive with help from their retainers: Laslow, Peri, Odin and Niles; together, this fully-unified front is able to put a permanent end to Iago's scheming. Following the battle, the Nohrian princes apologize to Corrin for not believing his words about Garon's growing madness. With their father becoming more unstable by the day, they now see that an alliance with Corrin and the Hoshidan royals is key for the survival of both their kingdoms. Ryoma agrees, and the two eldest sons - who note that they share the same common goals - finally call upon a truce to accompany their shared sibling into battle against the true mastermind.
