    Chapter 6: Embrace the Dark
Unable to side against the only family he had ever known, Corrin commands Ryoma to stand down. Aware though they are of Garon endangering their life to kill Queen Mikoto, they must return to Nohr to find out the truth for themselves. Ryoma, however, has no intent of letting Corrin slip away again and attacks, only to be fended off by Xander.

Retreat is not an option: doing so would not only show weakness to the Hoshidans, but make them believe that Corrin had been forced to return to Nohr rather than going back of their own volition. As such, Corrin and their Nohrian siblings fight their way through the Hoshidans, forcing Ryoma into retreat.

    Chapter 7: A Dragon's Decree
Xander, Corrin, and the others return to King Garon, who is shocked at Corrin's survival. Garon suspects, as does Iago, that Corrin's mind had been twisted by Mikoto and that they returned to Nohr in order to try and assassinate Garon. Xander, however, argues that Corrin fought off the Hoshidans singlehandedly, in addition to witnessing them choose to return to Nohr of their own volition.

Corrin tries to ask Garon if he had given them Ganglari to kill the Hoshidan queen. Garon dodges the question, and instead, orders Xander to execute Corrin. Corrin offers to kill themselves instead, so that Xander wouldn't have to. Surprised by this turn of events, Garon decides to consult with his deity, the dragon Anankos, to decide Corrin's fate.

Ultimately, Garon decrees that Corrin could return to the Nohrian royal family, but with conditions: as decreed by Anankos, Corrin is tasked with travelling to the Ice Tribe and quashing their rebellion, alone.

Once Garon's children leave, Garon reveals that the task he had given Corrin was simply a means to punish them, to torture them by extinguishing all hope from their heart. Little does he know, Xander overhears his father's mad rantings...

Corrin travels through the Woods of the Forlorn towards the Ice Tribe's homeland. They are accosted by Faceless, but saved by their faithful maid Felicia or butler Jakob, who couldn't bear to leave Corrin to handle such a dangerous task by themselves. As more Faceless appear, they are joined by Silas, a childhood friend of Corrin's, along with Elise and her retainers: Arthur, a heroic but perpetually unlucky fighter; and Effie, a knight possessed of incredible strength. Together, they lay the Faceless low.

Unbeknownst to Corrin, the Faceless army they faced was a creation of Iago, who sought to have Corrin killed. Even though they prevailed against the Faceless, though, even greater suffering awaits them...

    Chapter 8: Cold Reception
Corrin and their friends make their way to Ice Tribe territory. As they get closer to the village, the blizzard that blows through the territory intensifies, leaving Corrin in great mortal peril.

They are rescued by Kilma, the leader of the tribe. Corrin and Silas try to keep their identity as a Nohrian noble a secret, but Flora, who refers to them as her liege, and their sister Elise let the cat out of the bag. Kilma orders Flora, his daughter, to sound the alarm: they had been infiltrated by Nohrians who must not be allowed to live!

Battle erupts between Corrin's party and the Ice Tribe, but Corrin is able to turn the tides with the aid of Leo's retainers, come to aid him: Odin, a dark mage with a flare for the dramatic; and Niles, a flirtatious and easy-going outlaw.

Eventually, Corrin emerges victorious. Afterwards, they have Elise tend to the wounded, surprising Kilma; Corrin owes him his life for saving him from the blizzard, and did not believe in repaying kindness with bloodshed. They had come to stop a rebellion, but they did not intend to exterminate the Ice Tribe. Kilma agrees to stop his rebellion, in the hopes that Corrin could end the war between Nohr and Hoshido.

    Chapter 9: Another Trial
Garon is pleased by Corrin's spectacular success in stopping the rebellion without a single casualty. He is briefly enraged by the discovery of Elise's aid, but when Xander takes the fall for defying him, he relents. He immediately sends Corrin on their next mission: to conquer the independent territory of Notre Sagesse.

Corrin sets out towards the port town of Dia, and passes through Fort Dragonfall. However, they discover that the fort has been occupied by Hoshidan soldiers led by Haitaka, much to their shock. With the aid of an enigmatic and solitary dark mage named Nyx, Corrin routs the Hoshidans and captures Haitaka. They discover, much to their shock, that they had betrayed and captured Azura and were planning to murder her for her Nohrian heritage. Realizing she is doomed if she stays in Hoshido, Azura joins Corrin's group.

    Chapter 10: Unhappy Reunion
Corrin arrives in Dia to secure passage to Notre Sagesse. As they hope to be able to take a breather, Felicia or Jakob warns them that Hoshidan troops under the personal command of Takumi and his retainers Hinata and Oboro are laying siege to the port. Takumi is enraged at Corrin's role in Mikoto's death and betrayal of their family and Hoshido, and intends to exact revenge by claiming their head. Corrin is forced to bunker down in a desperate defense of the port. Fortunately, they are saved by the timely arrival of Camilla and her two retainers, the harsh mercenary Selena and the quiet assassin Beruka. With their aid, Corrin manages to break the siege and defeat Takumi. Takumi begins to suffer from a severe headache, but refuses Corrin's attempts to help him and flees. Corrin sets out for Notre Sagesse once again.

    Chapter 11: Rainbow Sage
Corrin arrives in Notre Sagesse and discovers that Hoshido has beaten them to the area. They have taken the powerful Rainbow Sage into protective custody in order to keep Corrin from obtaining their power as Garon, Sumeragi, a nameless knight, and Xander did before them. After an exhausting climb up a mountain, the Nohrian army arrives at the Sage's palace and discovers that a Hoshidan garrison led by Hinoka is protecting the Sage. Kaze, Rinkah, and Hinoka's retainers Azama and Setsuna are also present.

The two armies engage in a vicious battle, and Corrin emerges victorious. However, as per their orders, not a single Hoshidan is slain in battle, impressing Rinkah. Hinoka is forced to retreat with her army, but Kaze remains behind; swayed by Corrin's sincere desire for peace, Kaze elects to defect to Nohr.

Corrin meets the Rainbow Sage, who alters the Yato to make it more receptive to the powers of the Divine Weapons and advises him to forge the Seal of Flames. An illusory projection of Iago appears and orders Corrin to execute the Sage; they are spared the pain of killing him when the Sage dies of natural causes, much to Iago's irritation. The victorious Nohrian army prepares to return home.

    Chapter 12: Bitter Intrigue
During the march to Krakenburg, Elise falls severely ill. Azura explains that their only hope of saving her lies in the medicine stores of Palace Macarath. When the group reaches Macarath, however, they are ambushed by Ryoma, his retainers Saizo and Kagero, and a legion of Hoshidan soldiers. Ryoma refuses to explain how he knew Corrin would be at Macarath, and demands they surrender in exchange for Ryoma allowing the Nohrians to pass and find Elise's medicine. Corrin refuses; they are spared a duel with Ryoma by the timely arrival of Xander's retainers, the flirtatious Laslow and the violent Peri. The Nohrian army breaks through Ryoma's defensive line, forcing him to retreat. Afterwards, the group obtains the medicine and makes for Krakenburg once more.

    Chapter 13: Uprising
When the party returns to Nohr, Garon congratulates Corrin on another job well done, but shows little reaction to Azura's return. He sends Corrin to put down another rebellion, this time in the province of Cheve. As they set out, Corrin meets Hans, who informs them that he will be accompanying them to Cheve. He also claims that his betrayal at the Bottomless Canyon was merely a test on Garon's behalf. When they reach Cheve, the group is unexpectedly ambushed by Scarlet, leader of the rebellion, and Takumi, who is leading a Hoshidan contingent to support her. Takumi injures Elise and again declares his intention to kill Corrin, ominously stating that he believes it will make the pain in his head go away.

A battle erupts, and with the aid of two Nohrian border guards, a gold digger named Charlotte and a gentle giant named Benny, Corrin quashes the rebellion and defeats the Hoshidans, including Mikoto's old retainers Orochi and Reina. Afterwards, Scarlet is brutally killed and made an example of, and Hans begins butchering rebels and civilians alike. When Corrin confronts him, Hans explains that he is acting on Garon's direct orders. Horrified, Camilla can only try to comfort them as they watch the massacre unfold. Corrin remains doubtful that Garon would go so far as to order Cheve razed to the ground. Azura also notes that Takumi has become far more hostile ever since Mikoto's death.

    Chapter 14: Voice of Paradise
Corrin and their friends head to the city of Cyrkensia to rest and recuperate. There, Leo explains that he has finished a mission for Garon and can now join Corrin's growing band. They attend a musical, where a mysterious singer in dark clothing sings a strange song that sends Garon into extreme convulsions. As Garon evacuates, Corrin defeats a group of Hoshidan assassins and captures their leader, Kumagera, who denies knowledge of the singer's actions. They also befriend a wolfskin named Keaton who has gotten hopelessly lost while trying to find his way to the mountain where he lives.

Afterwards, Garon orders the siblings to kill every singer in Cyrkensia, much to Corrin's horror; they realize that Garon was indeed behind the massacre at Cheve. Leo explains that there is no hope of convincing Garon to show leniency, and that all they can do is try to subvert his orders on the sly. His Brynhildr begins resonating with Corrin's Yato, transforming it into the Grim Yato.

    Chapter 15: The Black Pillar
While recovering from the events in Cyrkensia, Corrin witnesses Azura disappear into a lake. When they follow her, they find themselves in a strange land. Their attempt to get answers from Azura is interrupted by an attack by the invisible soldiers who killed Mikoto, but they are rescued by none other than Gunter, who is none the worse for wear after his fall into the Bottomless Canyon.

After wiping out the soldiers and escaping, Azura gives Corrin and Gunter a crystal which shows a monstrous version of Garon before disintegrating. She explains that Garon has been killed and replaced with a puppet whose goal is to annihilate Hoshido and Nohr. She also admits that she was the one who sung the song that nearly killed Garon in Cyrkensia. Corrin and Azura agree to conquer Hoshido, place Garon on the Throne of Truth to reveal his true form, and assassinate him. Azura warns them not to say anything about the mysterious land they are currently in. The three return to Nohr via the Bottomless Canyon.

    Chapter 16: Invasion
When the three return to Cyrkensia, Corrin deflects Iago's suspicions by claiming half-truthfully that they took a walk, were attacked by a strange group of soldiers, and slaughtered them all. Garon orders Corrin to commence the invasion of Hoshido. As Corrin prepares to depart by sea, they are joined by Xander, and the Nohrian siblings are reunited at last.

During their voyage, pirates board the ship and begin making off with the contents of their war chest. Corrin defeats the pirates and confronts their leader, Shura. Shura explains that he is a former ninja of Kohga, a ninja clan in Hoshido which was slaughtered by Daimyo Kotaro of Mokushu; he has been forced to make a living as a bandit ever since. Shura offers his services to Corrin; despite their siblings' concerns, Corrin agrees to give Shura a chance, but threatens to kill him if he betrays them.

    Chapter 17: Den of Betrayal
Corrin arrives in Mokushu and is greeted by Kotaro, who explains that he has chosen to ally with Garon. Corrin and their troops help drive out Hoshidan forces in the area. As they finish mopping up, they are accosted by Saizo, who reveals that Kotaro was the one who murdered Saizo and Kaze's father, and that he has currently kidnapped Kagero. When Corrin demands he explain himself, Kotaro admits to the deed and claims that dishonesty and cruelty are par for the course in war. Disgusted with Kotaro's dishonorable actions, Corrin turns against him.

With Saizo's aid, the group defeats the Mokushujin forces, and Shura, Kaze, and Saizo exact revenge for their loved ones and slay Kotaro. Afterwards, Saizo and Kagero begrudgingly thank Corrin for their aid, but warn them that the next time they meet, it will be on the battlefield as enemies. Corrin apologizes to Kaze for turning him against his own brother, but Kaze has no regrets about his decision.

    Chapter 18: Black & White
The group decides to take a breather in the principality of Izumo, where a strict policy of neutrality is maintained and fighting within its borders is forbidden. The group meets the eccentric Duke Izana, and are surprised to discover that the Hoshidan royal family is also in attendance. However, Izana turns out to be a Nohrian impostor named Zola. Zola betrays and captures the Hoshidan royalty and intends to execute them on behalf of Garon, winning the war. Corrin and Xander are unable to stomach Zola's dishonest and cowardly tactics, and decide to battle him so they can win the war honorably.

After killing Zola, the Hoshidans refuse to show any gratitude. Fortunately, the real Izana forces them all to make peace with each other for the time being. The ten royals share a meal under Izana's roof, and Corrin is glad to see their two families united for just a brief period, even if they are all totally dysfunctional.

    Chapter 19: Kitsune Lair
Due to the truce in Izumo, the Hoshidans now know that the Nohrian invasion is pressing close to Shirasagi and have almost certainly fortified the main route. Corrin is forced to take an alternate route that goes through the lair of the deadly kitsune tribe. As they pass through the mountain, they encounter the chief of the tribe, Kaden. Kaden appears to be friendly, but the group quickly realizes his cohorts have surrounded them. Kaden explains that all humans who trespass on the hamlet are to be put to death, and the Nohrians are forced to slaughter them all, much to Corrin's sorrow.

    Chapter 20: Winds of Change
The group presses on and reaches the Wind Tribe village. Despite their apparent neutrality, they refuse to grant the Nohrians passage. Corrin meets the chief, Fuga, and manages to negotiate passage on one condition: Fuga knows that the legendary blade Yato is destined to be wielded by the one who will save the world, and challenges Corrin to a trial by combat to determine whether or not they are worthy. Corrin reluctantly accepts and defeats Fuga and his most promising mage, Hayato. Afterwards, Fuga expresses his satisfaction with Corrin's mettle, dispelling Corrin's own doubts. Hayato vows to grow stronger and defeat Corrin in the future.

    Chapter 21: Eternal Stairway
The group marches through the Eternal Stairway on the way to Shirasagi. Felicia and Jakob return from scouting and report that a massive group of Hoshidan soldiers has been slaughtered; the group is horrified, but Camilla and Leo note that at least they will not have to battle them themselves. The party responsible for their deaths soon shows itself: a massive horde of Faceless, who promptly turn against the Nohrians. Xander realizes that something is off about their sheer numbers, but has no time to dwell on it. Completely surrounded, Corrin has no choice but to power through their onslaught and break through to the top of the Stairway.

As the Faceless begin to overwhelm them, Xander and Azura order Corrin to abandon them and save themselves. Corrin reluctantly flees to the top of the Stairway, where they are ambushed by one last Faceless. Lilith sacrifices herself to take a fatal blow for Corrin, and reverts to her human form and gives them one last bit of encouragement before dying in their arms. Corrin's friends are able to beat back the Faceless and regroup with Corrin, and everyone mourns Lilith's demise. Xander tells Corrin they must continue fighting no matter what happens, and the group leaves. Iago, who is observing, reveals himself to be responsible for the Faceless army, curses Lilith for her interference in his continued torment of Corrin, and vows to make them suffer even further.

    Chapter 22: Sakura
The Nohrian army finally reaches Fort Jinya, the front line of the Hoshidan defense. The fort is considered to be impregnable; conquering it is crucial to seizing Shirasagi. Inside the fort, Yukimura begs Sakura to retreat before the fighting begins, but she refuses to abandon her brethren out of cowardice and personally joins the battle.

Corrin breaks through the fort's defenses and defeats Yukimura, Sakura, and her retainers Hana and Subaki. Yukimura agrees to surrender on the condition that his remaining soldiers' lives are spared. However, Iago and Hans arrive and begin murdering the captive soldiers. Garon appears and explains that they are acting under his direct orders to give no quarter, and threatens to kill Corrin and Xander if they disobey him.

    Chapter 23: Possessed
Corrin is barely able to get Yukimura, Sakura, Hana, and Subaki away from Garon by pointing out their potential use as bargaining chips. Azura informs them that the traumatized Sakura has fallen into a severe depression, and Elise has been trying to take care of her ever since. She reveals that the Nohrian army is currently split into two major factions: those loyal to Garon, and those loyal to Corrin and their siblings. Iago appears and orders Corrin to seize the Great Wall of Suzanoh, the last line of defense between them and Shirasagi. They are told to slip through the main battle, defeat the core legion, and kill their commander, Takumi, as they already have Sakura and have no need of a second political hostage.

As the battle begins, Takumi once again vows to kill Corrin for their betrayal. He is unable to put his money where his mouth is, however; Hinata and Oboro are killed in battle, the Great Wall is seized, and Takumi is cornered. Corrin begs Takumi to surrender peacefully, but he goes berserk when he discovers Sakura has already been captured. Takumi's body begins to emit a noxious purple aura, and he jumps off the wall to his certain death. The horrified Corrin races to the bottom of the wall, only to be unable to recover his body. Azura points out that Takumi is almost certainly dead or crippled, but Corrin retains hope he may be OK.

    Chapter 24: Hinoka
The group reaches the castle town, and the populace hurl insults at Corrin as they march through. Iago and Hans begin murdering anyone who crosses them, much to Corrin's horror. Iago shoots down Xander's suggestion of convincing the remaining Hoshidans to surrender, and plans to kill their way into the castle. Garon sides with Iago, and the reluctant Corrin prepares to storm the front of the castle. An embittered Xander explains that he believes justice is an illusion, and all they can do is walk their own path without any regrets.

As the battle begins, Corrin discovers that the enemy commander is none other than their sister Hinoka. Despite her best efforts, her troops and her retainers are defeated and the defensive line falls. Hinoka tells Corrin to just kill her and get it over with, but they are unable to murder their sister in cold blood. Corrin seizes Hinoka's lance as a trophy and orders her, Azama, and Setsuna to go into hiding until the war is over. Hinoka begrudgingly agrees, but warns Corrin that Ryoma is in the castle and begs them to find a way to avoid killing him.

    Chapter 25: Ryoma
The party reaches the chamber before the throne room, and encounters Hoshido's last line of defense, the crown prince Ryoma. Iago smugly informs him that Sakura is captured, Takumi committed suicide, and Hinoka is dead by Corrin's own hand. Distraught and enraged, Ryoma vows revenge and challenges Corrin to a duel to the death. Xander attempts to intervene on Corrin's behalf, but Garon and Iago stop him, and he is further hampered by the arrival of Saizo and Kagero and a group of Hoshidan soldiers. While Xander and the others kill Saizo and Kagero and defeat the Hoshidans, Corrin manages to overcome and defeat Ryoma.

Afterwards, Corrin informs Ryoma that Hinoka's death was faked, calming him down. However, Garon orders Corrin to kill Ryoma, and threatens to have them executed for treason if they do not comply. Unwilling to force their own brother to strike him down, Ryoma commits seppuku. A distraught and horrified Corrin wanders off in tears, and Azura follows and does her best to comfort them.

    Chapter 26: Treason
With Ryoma dead and Hoshido fully subjugated, Garon heads into the throne room alone to consult his god Anankos. Corrin and Azura prepare to expose Garon for what he really is, but before they can do so, Iago and Hans attack them. Iago reveals that Hinoka was caught trying to slip out of Shirasagi, and that he intends to kill Corrin for their treason. Corrin's siblings, finally at the end of their patience with the two of them, decide to kill them and blame it on Hoshidan stragglers. Battle ensues, and Iago admits he was responsible for leaking Corrin's detour to Macarath to Ryoma, creating the Faceless that killed Lilith, and suggesting to Garon that Corrin be forced to kill Ryoma. An enraged Corrin defeats Iago, kills Hans, and emerges victorious. Iago desperately begs for mercy, but Leo gives him just as much mercy as he gave to everyone else he trampled upon: none. Corrin finally reveals the truth about Garon to their siblings, and despite their disbelief, they agree to follow them for just a little while longer.

    Chapter 27: The Empty King
The party enters the throne room and discovers Garon's true form, a hideous slime abomination. Garon immediately attacks them, and the horrified Camilla, Leo, and Elise are initially unable to battle their own father. However, Xander remains undaunted, and his Siegfried empowers Corrin's Grim Yato, transforming it into the Shadow Yato. A vicious battle ensues, and though he puts up a tremendous fight, Garon is finally slain. Xander and Corrin express relief that Garon can finally rest in peace, and Corrin gleefully declares victory...

...only to narrowly avoid getting shot in the head from behind. As Corrin turns around, they discover that their assailant is none other than Takumi, who has completely lost his sanity and now seeks to murder Corrin and burn Nohr to the ground. Azura realizes that he has fallen victim to the same corruption that claimed Garon's soul, and all they can do for him is put him out of his misery. Corrin, in a desperate bid to quell Takumi's rage, allows him to attack them with all his might. Takumi obliges, and promptly mortally wounds Corrin with a mighty arrow...

    Endgame: Night Breaks Through
Corrin finds themselves waking up in their bedroom at Castle Shirasagi with Mikoto and Ryoma at their side. After they regains their bearings, they explain that Corrin is currently in a state between life and death and can choose to either succumb to his wound and die, or return to the land of the living to battle Takumi. Mikoto reveals that Takumi will not stop until every Nohrian is dead under his boot. Corrin decides to return to life, but before he leaves, he meets none other than Takumi. Takumi explains that his soul is already dead and that the creature battling his friends is nothing more than a corpse fueled by rage and resentment. He reconciles with Corrin, admits that all he ever wanted was a chance to be his brother, and grants him the power of the Fujin Yumi. Lilith guides Corrin back to the living world, and Corrin vows to defeat and save Takumi.

Azura begins to sing a cursed and forbidden song, weakening Takumi's power. The final battle is more harrowing than any they have faced up to this point, but Corrin ultimately prevails and cuts down their brother. As he dies, Takumi returns to his senses and thanks Corrin one last time before succumbing to his wounds. Afterwards, Azura vanishes, and Corrin has a feeling they will never see her again. Xander is promptly crowned the new king of Nohr, and he and the Hoshidan heir apparent Hinoka vow to maintain the newfound peace between Hoshido and Nohr for the rest of their days. During the banquet that follows, Corrin heads out to a nearby lake to take a break. They encounter Azura once more, and she bids them farewell before vanishing forever. The next day, Corrin meets their beloved siblings and begins a new chapter in the history of the great nation of Nohr.
